every child is difrent. My son who is 23 monts says a few words (aprox amitly 15) while his cousin the same age can speek in full sentances and sounds almost like an adult.

As long as he recognizes objects when YOU say the words, he is doing fine. And maybe a dozen words at that age to be able to say is good too. My son is just turning 30 months and about 2 months ago he started speaking in full sentences like crazy - out of no where it seemed. Before you know it you won't be able to stop him!! It is so much fun once it starts so just keep talking to him in a normal voice (no baby talk) and he will pick up on it soon.

All kids are different. If he isn't speaking very much now I wouldn't really worry about it. My son was a little bit late on speaking but when he did he started out in almost full sentences.

My son had about a 2,000 word vocabulary, I think the norm is about 20 or 30

It used to be 20 words at 20 months, but I think those guidelines have changed.

I would say 10-20. Most words are probably more understandable to you and those in your immediate family.

Don't count how many words children should know, specially at such a young age.

It depends....every child is different, but if he is saying words at this point he should be fine.

he is still young so he wouldn't really speak to well.

thats about what my kids were saying but they were twins so it takes alittle longer for them
