Well, the universe is the big thing that has everything (literally) in it. Space is all over the universe between matter, including between my toes and up my nose.

The universe is everything. all of existence. from the beginning, the big bang, ~14 billion years ago, the universe has been expanding outward from a single point. everthing in existence is the universe.
space is just the term given to everything not inside of an atmosphere, like earth's, or mars'.

The universe is all there is. This is a flexible term, which once was used for what we now call the solar system. Later, it was used for what we call the Milky Way. Now it is used for the sum total of all the galaxies, of which appears to be about ten billion of them.

The universe is everything physical, space is just that black blue thing we see at night. It's pretty much dark matter with stars in it.
