Kittens have claws. They will use them, this may or may not make your dog angry. Stay close until you are comfortable that your new kitty will be 100% safe. This includes a cage for it to sleep safely in while you are out or asleep. The main thing you need to think about is what you will do with the new kitty if your dogs do NOT adapt to it. Where will it go?? maybe you can ask to introduce them before you make a final decision. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

You need kitty litter, a litter pan, a scoop and soft and dry kitten food. You can use spare household dishes or buy pet bowls for food and water. You need to be committed to take your kitty to the Vet for exams, shots, neutering and yearly follow up. Vets tend to be pricey but your kitty needs medical care as do human babies. You need to be prepared for a lot of playful energy, scampering, jumping, running and fake hunting. Things will quiet down after a year or so. Cats like to sleep in warm, soft places and with their best person at night.

In the beginning keep your kitten and dogs apart, behind a closed door would be good. They will smell one another and be curious. Once the dogs understand the kitten is now part of the family they will probably go along with the whole thing. Be patient, go slowly and don't surprise either the dogs or the kitten with sudden, unexpected meetings. You have a sweet breed of dog and I think you will be pleased with how they accept your cat. It will be a great family with 2 dogs and a cat. Lots of love to go around.

Good luck. Oh yes, you should try to keep your cat indoors-always. Most likely the mother cat will have already trained the kitten to use a litter pan. Kittens should stay with their mother for at least 3 months, she has a lot to teach them.

Um, you should maybe put the kitten in a kennel cab and let the dogs smell her and get used to her and make sure that she is very gentle. Then you may want to take the kitten out and the dogs will always recognize her as a gentle friend. Even if the kitten hisses, she'll still be harmless in the kennel. This will assure the dogs not to be afraid of her. If matters don't work out, then you may want to keep all of your pets in separate rooms.

Kittens/cats are not as loyal as puppies and dogs. Decide immediatly if it is to be an indoor cat or outdoor cat. If it to be an outside cat it will need certain extra shots that indoor cats do not require. The dogs well be careful coz even if they are nice they could inadvertantly run the cat off. Cats do have a tendancy to run away if they are unhappy. Buy both kinds of food, wet and dry coz they need the nutrition from wet but there teeth require dry to stay clean. Cats can be potty trained if done right, do not need a litter box you CAN teach it to go outside. Just takes a lot of patience

ok do NOT get a kitten if your dog isnt well mannered - and it sounds like they are not.

if you must get a feline - I suggest an older one who has been around dogs.

a cat who has not been around dogs will either hiss or run - either way making itself a target to the dog
