first of all, sorry to hear about your loss...

and to answer your question:
Although it always hard to understand why things like this happen, we need to keep in mind that God see's the bigger picture ----- and your loved one, if he/she had a relationship with God is NOW enjoying paradise!

I'm sure you've heard it many many times, but (If they had a relationship with God) your loved one is in a much better place...

God is the only one who knows how much suffering this person would have had to endure...
God is the only one who knew how much heartache this person would have suffered...
God is the only one who knows what reaction this would have on the family, and maybe (just maybe) He will choose this sad event to speak to some soul...

I'm sure that's the last thing you want to hear right now, and I don't mean to sound patronizing...but God is the only one who could answer such a question...I pray in time all of this will be revealed to you.

God loves you.
He wants the VERY best for you, and yes sometimes - HE does allow things to happen that we can't possibably understand...but then again, He's God.

If we love Him, we will trust him --- knowing that everything will work together for a greater good.

In the meantime, turn to him in this time of mourning; and look for his strength.

God does not supply the evil in the world, the sin, the pain, the death. God does hold the keys to life and death and has a plan and purpose for everyone (Jeremiah 23:11 I believe?). "The Lord taketh and the Lord giveth away". If the person believed in Jesus Christ then you have nothing to worry about because the person is in a much better place than this world.

If they have accomplished all that God planned for them to do, and takes them 'home," then their death is to reveal to YOU the state of YOUR faith, anger, frustration, and comprehension of God.

If you are angry, faithless, frustrated, or have incorrect preconceptions of God, then perhaps the Lord took them to protect them for your traits rubbing off on them. The issue is that everyone dies; human life is 100% fatal. Some die young, some die old, but all die.

When our emotions rise to the surface after the death of a young person, grief is appropriate. Anger is not. That young person's death should be a reminder to make a decision about God. Hopefully, we'll realize that our only hope of seeing anyone afterdeath is through a belief in Jesus Christ.

Leaving this earth, as we all must do, to be with God is not a punishment if we belong to Jesus. Eternal life is what we all should want. This earth is only a stop off for a very short time for all of us. That young person is probably with God at this moment.

We unfortunately are not privy to all of the answers to our questions here on earth. Why did I lose my baby last year? Why did my little nephew die from being born too soon 2 years ago? God is the only one who knows why he does what he does. Perhaps this person died so as to spare him/her from something horrible in years to come. Perhaps God just wanted them with him. Perhaps it was to teach someone else something they needed to learn. My great nephew that died? Just 18 weeks old and because of him his mother (my niece) had her life saved. Maybe thats why it happened but we will never know on this earth. I know thats hard to hear because as human beings we want answers, but take heart in knowing that this young person you speak of is not in any pain or suffering now or ever again. God is in control, they are with him.
I am very sorry for your loss

Ezekiel 18:32 "For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies," declares the Lord God..."

Precious one. I mourn for your loss. It is so hard to be left behind when a loved one is taken from this plane of existance. It is hard to grasp that we are human - and temporary on this earth.

God is merciful to us in our grief and our pain in that He is with us and has promised to send His Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to us. He will not leave us alone in our grief, and is right there with you each and every moment.

He promises to remain with us...

"I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from out of their sorrow..." Jeremiah 31:13b

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

I know that nothing anyone says will ever make total sence at this time - I just pray that you know God is near you right now. He loves you and wants to help you.

Peace dear one. --De

It is unfortunate to say, but sometimes death 'forces' us to regard a person more than if they were alive. The death of a great leader, for example, can inspire many generations afterwards simply because of the greatness and brevity of their life.

A flower cut/picked at the peak of their blossom blooms forever in the memory, and thus never dies.

I am so sorry for your loss. The pain must be enormous.

I hope that in some small way you can be grateful for the moments you shared with your young companion. They must have touched something deep within you to have considered their death with such sincere emotion.

I hope that you eventually find some consolation in the memory of their life, of the connection you shared, and the fact that you inhabited the universe together at one time.

my parents had 8 kids. the 1st born died at 6mos, the youngest died at 19, the kindest most selfless one died at 34.
They never asked why.
Mother lost my father, another daughter, a grandson and a son-in-law whom she had known since he was a baby.
She never asked why.
I lost these people too, and I wanted to ask why.

We will all pass away. Perhaps the future for those those we loose would have been worse than death. We will be together again.
