What the Atheists are fighting is the religious take over and the loss of their rights. I think theocracies suck, but the religiuous folk seem to want one.

edit Atheist are not fighting God, they are fighting ignorant fundamentalists from all religions. The biggest group of them are USA Baptists. The Taliban are the same breed but are in the middle east.

Fight is an under statement for some of what I know concerning atheists and their dilemma with the idea of God or a god or religion altogether.

Atheists don't fight god. That's silly - there isn't any god to fight.

Are you pretending not to have noticed the bad behavior of believers? You know, 9/11, abortion clinic bombings, the Taliban, creationists, etc.? That's what we're fighting against.

Atheists don't fight against God.

Some athiests fight against those who attempt to have their religious beliefs imposed on everyone through law.

This is not the same thing.

People seem to think those who believe in God want a theocracy so they think they have to fight to keep their rights. The truth is, especially in the US, we have had the sense to see that in history when a church became a political body it lost it's value as a religious structure. Unfortunately they don't get that we have a right to believe even as they have a right not to believe.

I have no personal struggle with any god who does not exist. I do sometimes argue with delusional people who believe that gods are real. Are you saying that my disagreement with you somehow justifies your delusion?

christians and atheists both fight for individual ideals and respect and although atheists do not belive that does not mean that as christians we do not reach out to them and try to spread our beliefs just like they reach out and try to spread their beliefs.
