What about " an eye for an eye"?

All I know is that we have not been attacked in the USA since we took the war to them

No. I do not support the war in Iraq, or any war for that matter. I am a Christian and you are right, "thou shalt not kill."

2Days, it is clear from reading a few hundred answers that you have given that you are an evangelic right wing conservative and therefore your questions are NOT being asked for information but rather to substantiate your views.

You ask us to remember "thou shalt not kill" but you fail to mention that there have been more killing in the name of RELIGION than in ALL war put together.

You fail to mention that in the greatest religious odyssey (The Crusades) thousands upon thousands were killed in the name of religion and that the Crusades themselves FAILED to achieve their objective.

And you failed to mention that the man who brought Christianity into official status was also called "Constantine the Butcher" in reference to his reputation as a killer of humans.

Of course, we all hate war as indeed most of hate violence of any kind. However, it appears that when ideologies clash, no other course but war has been chosen by world governments as a solution.

So on hehalf of many many members of Answers would you please tell us your views on how to rid the world of monsters who gas thousands of their own people and who torture anyone who opposes them. I would very much like to hear YOUR solution.

Thou shalt not kill applies to murder not war. God was involved in many wars so please don't quote unless you know what you are talking about.

I support the war because I believe terrorists are a government looking for a country to settle in to gain more weapons and further their organized intentions to threaten not only my freedom and way of life but everyone else's who doesn't act and think like them. Um-yeah, I thinks that's worth fighting against.

absolutely not! I am a consiencous objector, and I think that war is the most absurd thing ever. mind you, God had the children of Israel fighting battles... I think that there are certain circumstances in which there is no choice. But I also think that most of those can be avoided with a little common sense. something the world's great political leaders (and christian ones, too) seem to have lost. And not noticed it's missing, either.

I believe we would have been out of there long ago if there weren't so much opposition to freedom within our own western countries. I watched the Battle of Baghdad all night. There was very little killing, and none was necessary at all. Good ol' Dan Rather tried to make a Viet Nam out of it, and yeah! I hate the "war" that the cowardly liberals have foisted on us!

that is literally 'thou shall not murder..."

yes i support what we have done so far... because we have been fighting murderers...who have been terrorizing the world and killing others.

to allow murder is to participate in it...

now the terrorists are fighting each other... maybe tha tis a good sign....

anyhow... we do need to decide if we want to continue... i hear that the surge is helping some.. we cannot pull out too quickly.. or they will show up over here....

it is like fighting insects....they just keep coming at us...

The scriptures must be fulfilled…there shall be wars and rumors of wars. Other than that, I have no comment.
