Is the soul responsible and deserves punishment when the body is more responsible for a crime? I mean If someone is extremely depressed and stressed and does something really stupid which they would not do if the chemicals in the brain were not whacked up. Those who believe in God, can we always blame the soul even when the body is messed up?

I don't know if that is the way to say it. God's word says to be a slave to righteousness and not to sin. I am a truly professed Chr. but still mess up. Yet I fight it daily; hate sin and love righteousness, a long word for rightness with God. Give God your heart, soul and mind and your soul will follow Read the book of John. You are on my prayer list for salvation. Dear Lord be with this one who seems to be searching. Lord I call for chemicals of the brain to be brought under submission to You,it's creator. Thank you Lord.

There needs to be an understanding of the body ,soul and spirit....The body(flesh) is the house of the spirit inside...the soul is the breath in which we breath...it has no conscienceness...it is the spirit that contains mans mind ,,character...emotions and so on...

What essentially happened in the garden of Eden was when Adam ate of the fruit the spirit man was seperated from God...that is the same thing as dieing...death =seperation from life...spiritual death = being seperated from God ..the giver of life..this seperation is defined as man not knowing the things of God...so the bible says in Romans 3:10 as it is written there is none righteous..showing the plight of ALL men...since Adam till now...the next verse shows that seperation..11..There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

It is this verse that shows mans natural state with God...He does not know him and does not seek after him..But God is gracious and just and He gives ALL men opportunity to learn of him...

Jesus said it best...in Matthew 26:41... Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak....Let's us know that upon learning of God ...we begin to pray and interact with him...and our spirit is willing to learn and hear from him...the flesh is weak..and contrary in nature...Paul also said it in Romans 7th chapter 7th verse through 25...to long to copy and paste..but read it ..it speaks of the struggle we all have in the flesh...but there is a solution...look at chapter 8 verse 1..There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit...So walk in the spirit of God ..which means ..to seek to always walk ..under the direction of the spirit of God...He will lead you into the paths of righteousness..God bless

The body is weak and the spirit strong. You can kill the body, but not the soul.
Slavery is temporary, compare to eternity.
