The God delusion, as described by Richard Dawkins in 2 Documentaries and one book (that I know of) drives people to believe that such things cannot be true due to the extraordinary God being that "created" this earth 10,000 years ago. Evolution is something that has occurred over millions of years.

The Earth is proven to be a lot older than 10,000 years. At first people said that the dinosaurs proved that theory. And afterwards people were complaining saying that carbon dating to find out just how old those old bones were was not accurate. So then we look to the skies. We can see the light from stars that are a million lightyears away and further, meaning the earth is a lot older than most Religion enthusiasts may think.

Plus people just dont like to think themselves as animals. Well you are, get over it. Natural selection selects something for every animal to excel in, swimming, flying, blending in with this, etc. Or like the human, extensive use of our brains until the first day one of us half-monkeys asked "why are we here" and so started religion because we couldn't understand the amazing world around us. Well now we are evolved and much smarter and there is no need for such folly.

As you can see I am tired of people not believing in evolution as well. It's about time for this madness to end.

in response to "supertop"'s response, i work in a scientific laboratory and i cant create nuclear fusion in the lab, and that doesnt mean it never has happened somewhere. Just because scientists cant do it right now doesnt mean it never happened. If you do a math problem and cant seem to figure it out, but you see somewhere else it is done, it doesnt mean God did it. It means you dont know how to do it yet. stick that in your tailpipe

Most scientists in the field of evolution would call evolution an observation, not a theory. Evolution is real, an often occurs in such a way that trace fossils are not readily preserved. it doesnt mean they are not there, it mean we havent found them yet.

Evolution doesnt disprove God. Go look up an idea call Intelligent Design.

Most Christians are just too short sighted to believe that their precious Bible might not be perfect. They teach men are not perfect, so how could something written by men be perfect???

Ah, but I beg to differ. Evolution is not a valid argument against the existence of God. One should not make assumptions. Surface knowledge does not grant one the ability to make valid arguments. Although I am not a Bible thumping Christian, it is not patently obvious to me at all. I happen to believe that just because the Theory of Evolution is most likely the truth regarding life as we know it, it doesn't automatically prove there is no God. I happen to believe in both, and do not see a discrepancy in either viewpoint. One does not cancel out the other.

Even scientists agree that the THEORY of evolution does not disprove the existence of God. So where do you get YOUR information from? You smarter than scientists? You have a keen insight that even Einstein did not have? How did you come to this ingenious conclusion?
You actually know so little !! For one thing, Christians do not believe in gods, we believe in the one true living God, the great I Am, which created the heavens and the earth, Alpha and Omega, the first and the last. Get it?

To say that any theory, even the theory of gravity, is a fact means you don't understand science. Theories can't be proven true, but they can be proven false.

Further, evolution as a theory is very well supported by many observations, but it, nor any other theory of nature, can be construed to prove or disprove God, because God is SUPER-natural by definition.

These kinds of misunderstandings go a long way in obscuring true science. I suggest reading "Just a Theory", by Moti Ben-Ari if you want to bone up on your science.

Because it's a scientific fraud. Scientists, with carefully controlled conditions in modern labs, have been unable to get DNA to form spontaneously; and if it did form, it would have to be in the right order to make a living cell; it could never happen by random chance. Stick that up your tailpipe.
Also there is no proof that anything at all evolved from Homo Habilis, and some paleontoligists say "Lucy" was an ancestor of chimpanzees, not humans.
I looked in a biology textbook recently and do you know what they give for an example of evolution? Finches developing harder beaks. How did the beak evolve from an animal that had no beak? The have no idea.

I'm not christian and i think evolution is BS , I also don't believe a god created everything and I can admit I have no clue how we all came about but both theories don't convince me

Evolution does not prove the non-existence of god.

In all honesty it doesn't even prove that god(s) didn't control evolution itself.

I'll put it to you this way:

If people evolved their thinking, they wouldn't ask such stupid questions...

instead, it's like they're 'descending' into a scientific blur based on:

"Poof! The world just created itself - OUT OF NOTHING!"

Now tell me, how does something start out of nothing, unless it has a creator...

then, explain to me how nothing evolves into something...

It doesn't.

God created everything. He modified it at His will.
