BMI (Body Mass Index) is the best way to calculate the best body weight for your height.

You optimal weight at 5'3" is around 120 lbs.

The way I've heard is, 100lbs for 5 feet and 5 lbs for every inch over that. So for 5 ft 3 in that would be 115 lbs.

But I will say that it depends on the person, according to that calculation I should weigh, 145lbs because I'm 5ft 9 in and I weight a good 10 lbs less, and am not underweight. (believe me! LOL)

I think bone structure has alot to do with it. if you are a small bone structure you should weigh less than someone with a larger bone structure. My cousin and I are the same height but different builds, she looks better with more weight than I do.........

We all feel good at a certain weight, find what yours is.........

Good luck to you!

I am 5'4. My goal weight(as established by one of my doctors) would be 145 lbs. (I'm over that, but I'm working on it ^_^). When considering a goal weight, you also have to consider the sex and the age of a person as well as the height,a male and a teen needs more calories than females or adults. If you are planing to diet, check with a doctor for your personal requirements.

My doctors chart states anywhere from 130-150 is a healthy weight. But some if not most would still feel a little pudgy at that weight.

105-140. 120 is probably the best, most healthy weight for you i would guess. as long as it is mostly muscle and not fat.
