Hi, I am a 13 year old girl with Indian (from India) skin. For me, its like all my joints are just like many shades darker than my skin. It makes them stick out and looks ugly. idk if its genetically like that or what but is there anything i can do to make them lighter??? I don't like to wear shorts or anything becuase my knees are practically like black and the rest of my skin is a nice brown color. I've tried rubbing lemon and palmers cocoa butter but it doesn't help. I am desparate to find a solution to this. PLEASE HELP!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Try getting a lightening cream from the drug store, one that has a very little amount of bleach in it, and just lightly rub it on the area. This might help to lighten and smooth out the colour. Have you tried using a mixture of sugar and lemon juice? Use it regularily and try leaving it on the skin for a few minutes before washing it off and it might help. You can also try moisturizing every day with a heavy duty moisturizer to take some of the dryness away and maybe lighten the skin.

Hi, back!

The lightening creme is a very good solution. However, you should use that (according to directions) along with a scrubbing agent. I have used a Buf Puf (a textured scrubbing pad) on my face and neck (super-sensitive skin) since I was about 15 or 16 years old.

This may be the solution you seek. The Buf Puf exfoliates dead skin. Which means in time nicer softer newer skin will be revealed. Follow the directions for this also.

Meanwhile, stay off your knees and elbows. No propping your face with your hand, or crawling around on your unprotected knees. Jeans or some type of sturdy pants will do. There are rubber knee pads available that you could use as well.

Remember to be patient. Things should turn around in time, but if you try to rush, you might delay your results, and cause irritation.

I forgot to mention that you should definitely lotion very well once you are done.

You should consider talking to your parents. They may have info or solutions that I am unaware of.

I hope this works out for you!
And I hope this helps!

Dark Spots On Fingers

I am of Caucasian decent & in the summer when we get tan from the sun our knees and elbows, neck and ankles will naturally become darker than the rest of our body. This is due to more skin there since we need to move those body parts.
Like someone else mentioned they sell skin lightners but they take awhile to take effect & you would have to keep using it.
I read somewhere to lighten & soften the skin on knees & elbows to rub half a lemon on them.

I've got darker skin in these places too and I am Italian. I've used Porcelana Fade Skin Cream, it's for old lady skin spots we call liver spots. lemon juice is supposed to work but sweetie this is the way God made you and me. How about men with no hair on their chests but from the back look like a gorilla. This too will pass. Love yourself the way you are and be sure others will feel your positive attitude and accept you for whomever you are.

The problem is honey... well you are indian, they tend to have darker skin around their joints... it just the culture... I would suggest if its buggin you thst bad to apply some lemon peels to the dark areas, it a home remedy to "dirty" looking joints... dont try scrubbing you'll hurt yourself, if that don't work use an exfoliant to dry to get some of the dry skin cells off...

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/XZsmR

I was going to say extra moisterizer and dont do anything that is wearing on your joints, maybe they are just rough and need to be exfoliated, try using a scrub on them and lotion up really good afterwards(when your pores are open).

I have this too. Depending on your ethnicity too, it may be natural. But yes, try cocoa butter. Lots of moisturizer will help a little bit :)
