Your friend may have been raised as a Protestant, but to truly BE one, would mean that you accept the teachings of whatever Protestant denomination that you are associated with. If your friend only reads the Bible for entertainment value, but does not believe in God, then she is not really a Protestant, but rather one raised in a Protestant home, because all Protestant denominations at least have this in common: they believe in God. You asked for our views on your friend. I don't know your friend, so I can't form an opinion of her. I will say that whether or not she believes in God does not decide her value as a human being. Whether she believes in God or not, she is still loved by God.

So then what is she Protesting?
If she's a Protestant then she's protesting the whistles and bells of the Catholic Church and their impediment to true Christian worship and living. So if she doesn't believe in God she's got nothing to Protestant--she's lost her raison d'etre as a Protestant.
I hope it's only a phase. Take her to a pastor or a new church or youth group or something. Study the Bible with her-- God works through His Word and it is bound to touch her deeply.

The word "Protestant" has come to mean a culture more than a belief system. That is why many of us prefer to use the term "evangelical" instead of Protestant, in order to specify that we are believers.

She is certainly NOT a Protestant! If she does not believe in GOD then she is actually an atheist. Have a great evening.

What are my views on her?
I think she's a nice girl, but she talks too much and has poor color coordination.
