I know Monster is very ovewrrated and I have heard that there was this one brand that was absolutely amazing and was about half the price, but I'm not sure what it's called. Any suggestions? (For my car BTW) If you think monoprice.com is good enough for most applications thats cool too.

I did my entire system with Stinger wiring and a distribution block and am very pleased with the quality. They have won awards for their products and many show winning cars use their wires. Check out bagboy on eBay for Stinger stuff. Great business.

Keep in mind however that Monster's bleeding edge products are outdone by no one. They are the Bose of audio wires. The reason its products cost so much is because it sinks so much money into R&D and advertising and pass the expense on to the consumer. While their lower and middle class products can be matched by more cost effective solutions, Monster is in a class all it's own when it comes to the really high fidelity wires. But, will you be able to tell the difference? Only a set of really well trained ears will probably notice and only an ultra premium stereo setup will be able to take advantage of the expensive wires.

a lot of companies out there are ripping the consumers off by using more plastic housing to make up for less wire..Rockford Fosgate is the way to go. I was in the same position you are in and I researched it.

Go for Oxygen Free Copper wires and leads. Name brands are expensive but they are all oxygen free. If you are on a budget, you can go with lesser known brands as long as they are oxygen free.
