The fundamental doctrines of Christendom are based not on the Bible but on ancient myths—those of Greece, Egypt, Babylon, and others. Teachings such as the inherent immortality of the human soul, eternal torment in hellfire, purgatory, and the Trinity (three persons in one Godhead) are not found in the Bible.

For example, consider the teaching that bad people will be tortured forever in a fiery hell. How do you feel about this idea? Many find it repugnant. They find it unreasonable that God would forever torture humans, keeping them in excruciating pain. Such a fiendish idea is contrary to the God of the Bible, for "God is love." (1 John 4:8) The Bible is clear that such a teaching 'had not come into the heart' of Almighty God.—Jeremiah 7:31; 19:5; 32:35.

Today many religions, including the churches of Christendom, teach that humans have an immortal soul, which at death goes to heaven or hell. This is not a Bible teaching. Instead, the Bible clearly states: "The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, . . . for there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol [the grave], the place to which you are going." (Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10) And the psalmist states that at death man "goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish."—Psalm 146:4.

Recall, too, that when Adam and Eve broke God's law, the punishment was not immortality. That would have been a reward, not a punishment! Instead, they were told that they would "return to the ground, for out of it [they] were taken." God emphasized to Adam: "For dust you are and to dust you will return." (Genesis 3:19) Thus, the teaching of inherent immortality of the soul is not in the Bible but was borrowed by Christendom from non-Christian peoples who lived before them.

Also, Christendom's Trinity doctrine portrays God as some mysterious three-in-one God. But that teaching is not found in the Bible either. For instance, at Isaiah 40:25, God clearly states: "To whom can you people liken me so that I should be made his equal?" The answer is obvious: No one can be his equal. Also, Psalm 83:18 simply states: "You, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth."—See also Isaiah 45:5; 46:9; John 5:19; 6:38; 7:16.

The teachings of the Bible about God and his purposes are clear, easy to understand, and reasonable. But the teachings of Christendom's churches are not. Worse, they contradict the Bible.

Many readers of the Bible, however, are aware of Jesus' words: "In the house of my Father there are many abodes. . . . I am going my way to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2, 3) Does this not contradict the idea of life everlasting on a paradise earth?

These teachings are not contradictory. In fact, one supports the other. To begin with, the Bible states that only a limited number of faithful Christians—namely, 144,000 of them—are raised as spirit creatures to live in heaven. Why are they given this wonderful reward? Because they make up the group that John saw in a vision who "came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for a thousand years." (Revelation 14:1, 3; 20:4-6) Compared with the billions on earth, the 144,000 truly are a "little flock." (Luke 12:32) Moreover, having experienced the problems common to humankind, like Jesus they will be able to "sympathize with our weaknesses" as they supervise the rehabilitation of mankind and of the earth.—Hebrews 4:15.

The first thing I would recommend is if you have not, read the bible all the way through from beginning to end, then you will know the word. Then, again, if u have not, go to church every Sunday, and hear the pastors aka father, aka, aka, interpretation on the different scriptures. Then you will know what the words mean.
Remember... Christianity is a conversation between God and man expressed through the language of events.
Once you have successfully engaged in step one and two,
Start asking yourself in your everyday life..what would Jesus do, think, say, etc etc. By embracing a life such as this, you will understand the big picture of it all. Also, remember that a lot of what is in the bible is just details, ...for example....who cares how big the ark was, the message God wants you to know is he saved us from the flood and loves us.

These teachings don't make sence and are no where to be found in the bible, personally if you believe these things why are you a christian? U might as well stop. Because Christians follow Christ. If you believe the trinity you are not following Christ, because Christ tells us that he is lower than the father.
As long as you are paying the leader of the church you can smoke weed in the church and nothing would be said.

does the trinity even make sence? NO, and God is not mysterious thats like saying Me and my dad are one. Thats not true. My dad is greater than I, and Jehovah is Jesus' dad so....lol u figure the rest out.

everyone who knows real custom knows that custom is the way the Holy Spirit has continuously guided the folk of God, from age to age. The Judeo-Christian faith custom itself is in line with scripture, custom, and the real teachings of those in authority. Jesus shown the device interior the gospels, and he set the Church up the precise same way, leaving the Holy Spirit on top of issues as expert propose and arbiter of all divine fact. there is not something incorrect with real sacred custom, it extremely is in line with God's easy fact. The scriptures ascertain this. The Bible is an occasion of custom that has been decreased to writing, below the muse of the Holy Spirit. Corrupt persons of any denomination or faith flow against what Jesus taught. real sacred custom does not and can't, because of fact it somewhat is of God. 2 examples of fake traditions of adult adult males are the widely held (yet completely fake) doctrines of salvation by potential of religion on my own (by no potential taught by potential of the real Church, or stumbled on everywhere interior the real scriptures) and the Bible because of fact the only authority for the Christian faith (because of fact the Catholic Church predates the Bible by potential of a few 4 hundred years, and Jesus gave capacity and authority to the Church. not the Bible.) extra advantageous examine your materials.

Don't stop reading where it says 144,000; that is just out of the 12 tribes of Israel; keep reading and you will also see a great multitude out of all nations that are in heaven, before the throne of God.
God is Spirit; He is not three persons, He is not one person. Jesus was both God and man; many verses say so.

Take a look at Isaiah 9:6.
Read it carefully, it is a prophecy about the messiah that the Jews have waited for.
The child/son is the almighty Father/everlasting God.

The Father and the Son are one and the same God.
(Like: me. myself, and I are three ways of describing myself based on three different contexts. Likewise, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit all refer to the same God based on different contexts in the text(s) of scripture.)

Look further to Exodus 3:2-6 ( Get a good study Bible. )
Follow who it is that's talking.
Angel of the LORD?
LORD?
God?
The God of Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob?
Pray that the Holy Spirit would give you understanding.

Read the Gospel According to Saint John

Unlike Catholics, Protestants believe solely in the Bible.

If so, there are many verses in St John that Jesus and God are one.

John 10

38 But if I do, though you will not believe me, believe the works: that you may know and believe that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.

John 14
26 But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you.

Chapter 10
30 I and the Father are one.

Chapter 17
11 And now I am not in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name whom thou has given me; that they may be one, as we also are.

Chapter 17
21 That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them; that they may be one, as we also are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me; that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me.

If God has intended that man should learn His religion from a book, the Bible, surely God would have given that book to man. Christ would have given that book to man. Did He do it? He did not. Christ sent His Apostles throughout the whole universe and said, "Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you."

We must have Faith in order to be saved, and we must have Divine Faith, not human faith. Human faith will not save a man, but only Divine Faith. What is Divine Faith? It is to believe, upon the authority of God, the truths that God has revealed, that is Divine Faith. To believe all that God has taught upon the authority of God, and to believe without doubting, without hesitation. For the moment you begin to doubt or hesitate, that moment you begin to mistrust the authority of God, and, therefore, insult God by doubting His word. Divine Faith, therefore, is to believe without doubting and without hesitating. Human faith is belief upon the authority of men, on human authority. But Divine Faith is to believe without doubting, without hesitating, whatsoever God has revealed upon the authority of God, upon the Word of God.
