My guy and I have been dating a year and a half - we're in our twenties and met at school. Guys -- what signs do you give off when you know she's "the one" and are about to propose? My guy keeps talking about the future and such. ...help!

1) He mentions jewelry or hints at ring sizes and such
2) He talks about your future together
3) He talks about having a family

Sounds like he's already doing a bit of 2), which is a positive sign. Has the subject of marriage ever come up during the time you've been together? If so, and he seemed open or receptive, and he's exhibiting the above thee items, then he's definitely thinking about it, but just wondering "when" to pop the question. Good luck!

Honestly, talking about a future together is a pretty good sign that he's serious about your relationship and that he may want to marry you one day, but it doesn't necessarily mean that he wants to propose right away.

Relax. Your cry for "help!" makes it sound like you're either scared of him proposing or scared of him not proposing. He will when he feels like it. If he's taking his sweet time and you want to get married sooner, talk to him about it.

I think that most people discuss the idea of getting married before the guy proposes. Wouldn't you be too nervous to propose if you had no idea what your boyfriend thought about marriage? If you want to get married, talk to him about it.

When he gives you the ring.... sorry for the sarcasm.

He is most likely seeing how you feel about the future and if you are on the same wave length. It is okay to ask him his thoughts on marriage and your relationship. Asking "at what age did you think you are going to get married", "how do you view us long term?" are all great questions.

Good Luck!

He won't argue when you want to go jewelry shopping and he'll actually pay some attention when you point out the ring you want
