He is a small dog and only 4 months old. He has started eating his poop and licking up his pee. We are still working on potty training him to puppy pads, its been a hard battle. But now if he poops he will eat it, its so gross. Anyone have any tips on how to break this habit ?? Also tips on potty training him, I will be using just puppy pads. Thanks!!!

Most dogs eat poo because it is undigested food stuffs and to them, it's a form of food. With the tinkle being involved as well, he may be trying to clean up his mess as well. Some dogs are very picky about wanting a clean place to go and will try to "clean up" after themselves. Some of the pet supply stores have what I guess you could call a suuplement that you can give him to stop him from eating it. It is specifically designed and labled for use to prevent dogs from eating their own feces. hope this helps. I found a product called Deter from petsmart that is specifically for this condition which is called coprophagia in case you want to look into it more.
