Why don't the Jews and Muslim unite?

Question

Am a muslim and my girlfriend is a jew and we hoping to get married and we don't care about converting our religion.
First of all we both believe in god and moses, we both don't eat non halal meat as it's wrong in both of our religion.
We sometime talk about the Muslim and Jews that are fighting in the middle-east and we both pray for them to unite so the killing would stop.
But at the end of the day we've talked and discussed and said we both believe in one fight which is Good against evil and not one religion against another religion.
No matter what no one is gonna seperate me from my girl friend for being born with different religion but we will try and unite many Jews and Muslims as possible

Note to Ivri: Dearest, the word for "friend" in Arabic is "wali" which could be translated as "protector" or "guardian" or even "friend". The reason is logical ONLY if you take your time to think about it. What does a "protector" or a "guardian" do? Do you seriously expect a non-Muslim guardian to allow a MUSLIM under his/her care to practice Islam freely and willingly? What if the Muslim under care is a kid? THIS is why God advises us to avoid taking non-Muslims (especially ANTI-Muslims!!!) as guardians.
Oh, and, buddy, this same verse is repeated in 5:57, 4:139 as well. However, have you read 5:56 of the same Surah? It says: "As to those who turn (for friendship) to Allah, His Messenger, and the (fellowship of) believers,- it is the fellowship of Allah that must certainly triumph."
Muslims are told to take MUSLIMS as their guardians and protectors because that's BEST for them, but taking non-Muslims for guardianship, if necessary, isn't the worst thing ever either.
Nevertheless, if you're gonna claim that we Muslims cannot befriend Jews and Christians at ALL, then mind telling me exactly why God allows us to MARRY Jews and Christians (in the following verse and many others) then?
"This day are (all) things good and pure made lawful unto you. The food of the People of the Book is lawful unto you and yours is lawful unto them. (Lawful unto you in marriage) are (not only) chaste women who are believers, but chaste women among the People of the Book, revealed before your time,- when ye give them their due dowers, and desire chastity, not lewdness, nor secret intrigues if any one rejects faith, fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (all spiritual good)" (Quran, 5:5).
Your knowledge of Islam sucks, buddy.
One last comment before I end. Verse 60:8 of the Quran tells us Muslims that we have no right to deal unkindly and unjustly with those who're peaceful to us, do not fight with us, and are friends with us.
"Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just."

Hence, if the Jews and Christians leave us alone, we have NO right to fight them! And we CAN be friends with them all we want.

Again, sorry to disappoint you, but your knowledge of Islam isn't too beautiful, Ivri. Better luck next time in trying to prove your lies to be truth, honey. ;)

Edit: Sooo... one of my answers to questions just like this one here got deleted, and I've yet to understand why. Anyway, Avri, dear, I'm sorry if my answer's sounding a bit too insulting to you. I DID NOT say you suck; but it's quite clear, I think, that your knowledge of Islam does. There's nothing wrong with it, though, so don't worry, okie? However, I see you commented again with another proof that your knowledge of Islam comes from anti-Islamic sources, where people read Quranic verses out of context, you see.
I explained this same verse (47:4) to you in an email. Sura 47 was revealed during the first year of Hijrah (movement of Muslims from Makka to Madina) when the Muslims were under *threat of extinction* by invasion from Makkah. What do you think YOU would've done in that case? Would you just sit there and let your enemies wipe your people out just like that? I don't think so ;). No, you wouldn't, and that's the truth, and because God knew you wouldn't, He sent this verse/Surah telling you shouldn't worry and attack them if they try to attack YOU.
I'll give you another verse that you anti-Muslims tend to use in your attempt to claim that Islam/Quran teaches evil:
8:12: "Remember thy lord has inspired the angels with the message. Give firmness to the believers and instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. Smite them above their necks and smite the fingertips of them."
Ahhh... you forgot to give this one to me. How come? Surah 8 was revealed DURING a war (The Battle of Badr) in which the non-Muslims outnumbered the Muslims in hundreds, if not thousands. Yet, the Muslims won, in the Name of their Lord.
What about verse 9:5? "When the sacred months have passed, kill the idolaters whereever you find them."
Sura 9 is interesting. Non-Muslims almost invariably quote verse 5 but leave out verse 4 and 6. Why? Because verse 4 says, "But the treatires are not dissolved with those Pagans with whom you have entered into alliance and who have you subsequently failed you in aught, nor aided anyone against you. So fulfill your engagements with them to the end of their term: for God Loves the righteous."
And verse 6 says, "If one among the Pagans ask thee for asylum, grant it to him so that he may hear the Word of God; and then escort him to where he can be secure."
Can you name one other (if not more) Holy Scripture that tells its followers that they should give protection to those who don't believe? No, you won't be able to because no such Scripture besides the Quran exists.

Probably because the Quran tells the Muslims to hate the Jews. Here you have the only religion known to man in which a brother rapes a sister, and then to protect the family honour he murders her.

Or the girl's mother murders the daughter to protect the family's honour.

The holy Quran tells us not to be friends with Jews or Christians:
Sura 5:51: "O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your allies and protectors: They are but allies and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust."

Now there is an answerer here who has told me that i lie and that I suck. I fear that this is the tactic used by Muslim apologists who have run out of logical arguments.

I will not insult him. The Quran speaks for itself.

After all, the Quran prescribes slitting the throats of unbelievers:
Sura 47:4: "Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others. But those who are slain in the Way of Allah,- He will never let their deeds be lost."

a muslim man can married a woman who believes in God.
she could be a Jew or Christian, Allah allows it,
but if a girl does not belive in God you can't marry her.

I agree with you, but there are only two things that I'd like to point out to...

1. A Muslim doesn't date. It's no problem that she is a Jewess, but the problem is with the dating thing itself.

2. Out of experience... no matter how much you two try to fix things and work them out, there'll still be some disadvantages.


It's very nice to see such unity, and I actually do the same with people from other religions, but try thinking a little bit further.

But the reason they don't unite is centuries of hate and mistrust on both sides. Both sides are at fault. Both sides need to reconcile with each other.

Most Muslims dislike Jews because of Israel. The fact is that the majority of the Jews in power in Israel are European and American who are in it for the power and it has almost nothing to do with religion.

Many pious Jews, while enjoying the benefits of a "country" are against the treatment of the Pals as against the teachings of Judaism.

To Muslims, Jews are people of the Book and we are allowed to eat of their meat and their teachings are similar to Islam. Its the old tactic of those in power. Strong together, but weak divided and that's what politicians do...divide.

Personally, my only issue with Jewish people is their illogical support for Israel's ACTIONS. The politicians make the citizens believe that they are again on the verge of annihilation at it plays well to get the Israelis to hate the Pals and vice verse. The neocons in the US are playing us all...
