There's a good book on this called: "Leaving The Fold"... give it a read, it might be helpful.

There are different types of Pentacostal churches and there are different congregations in those sub-groups. I belong to a non-denominational church and I wouldn't want to speak ill of others who profess a similar faith in Jesus Christ.

But I will say that it has been observed that SOME Pentacostal assemblies have failed to take heed to the admonition that the Apostle John gave to us.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Find a good church like mine, http://www.alcf.net and pray for those whom you have left behind.

Please take some time to sort out the pros and cons of your experience. Reading others experiences is good, but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater.

I got involved late with a pentacostal church because of the chance to work with youth and because the people moved with the holy Spirit more than other churches. Not all of the latter is genuine, but some of it is. They nudged me out when they found out I believed in reincarnation. No grudges, I knew they wouldn't understand that.

I have heard a lot about the pentacostal church, but cannot judge. If you are a saved Christian, I would just pray about it and ask God to show you where to Go. If you're having uneasy feelings about a church, it's more than likely because God is trying to show you it's not right. Let Him show you. =]

I've read "Leaving the Fold" as well. Lots of testimonies from ex-pentacostals - including some prominant ones. One more great answer Smarty Pants! I had forgotten about that book.

Thanks to Smarty Pants for recommending that book. I used to attend the Pentecostal church -- a horrible experience. The judgments were too much, from people who were full of spiritual pride and who forever criticized other people (as John Hagee does on TV).

Try to get your head out of that whole scene. Love yourself and believe in more than their message of condemnation. Nobody needs that type of conditional love. And check out that book that Smarty Pants talked about -- I will look for it, too. Good luck. Stay strong!

I was raised in the Pentecostal church. I never had any issues. You can't blame the church on your physical problems.

We can not do it our selves.
God has to do His promises in us.

We need to let Him move in and through us.
