I have a 5 month old tiger-stiped kitten, that was just neutered last week. Before surgery he was very active, and getting a little aggresive toward the older two cats. But, still he acted full of energy. Now his personality has changed, he is laying around a lot, but still eating a good bit. Doesn't feel like he has fever. We have always spayed/neutered all of our pets, but in theis case, I feel like we may have destroyed him...He just isn't the same cat.

Bring him in to your vet and have a check-up done. It takes a while for recovery though so give him a few more days. it can be sore and tender so avoid him getting picked up a lot. He probably eats the same amount because nothing has changed but him being sore. Give him a little bit longer, some recover slower than others!!!! But eventually check in with your vet if he doesn't get better!

i fairly do not imagine there is any question that early spay/neuter may reason some topics down the line. besides the undeniable fact that, you're lacking the large photo. The early needed spay/neuter of safeguard canines is to guard them from being bred, causing extra safeguard canines who want to be spayed/neutered, or euthanized, if there is not any room for them. at the same time as you could make an smart decision about your individual animals, like your avatar says, there are different issues to think about the following. i might want to a lot somewhat have an early spayed/neutered safeguard canines than watch someone get a canines from the community pound and immediately start up breeding. All of my canines are spayed and neutered, and purely one replaced into finished after 6 months, because of an immune situation. The oldest 2 at the on the spot are 12 and characteristic by no potential had a difficulty. a minimum of they were by no potential compelled to reproduce by some stupid individual.

I don't think you've destroyed your cat :-)
It could be post-operative pain - some guys take longer to heal. If you're concerned, it's a good reason to bring him over to your vet, especially if they did the surgery. Better safe than sorry. And you can't really "feel" a fever unless there's a 4-5 degree difference with the back of your hand, so I'd say go and get his temperature checked - again, better safe than sorry.
PS : I wish I had thermometer hands too, it would make my job easier ;-)

it took my cat two to three weeks before she began to act normal or close to normal-your kitten is probably still a bit in pain but most likely traumatised-who knows how a cat really thinks-every time we just take our cat to the vet to have a check-up and bring her back home she will mope around the house for a couple of days- that happens every time so don't know what to tell you-just give it a couple more days or check back with your vet he may have an infection-because most kittens personality's don't dramatically change like that-don't get me wrong they may have a slight change but never heard of anything like that happening permanently!

Take him back to the vet. Neutering a cat will calm them down a bit, but this sounds a bit more serious.

could be the loss of testosterone hormone. if you can, call you r vet in the a.m and ask him/her if this is normal. you might have to take him in for a check-up. our goy (10 mths at time) was acting like he wanted to mate with the blankets, got him neutered on 22 of feb. picked him up on the 24th of feb, no more blanket problems and no more aggression. i hope everything is ok with your kitty

It might be worth a check with your vet. He may have complications from the surgery such as infection. Or he may just be slow to recover.

I think that he will be ok but please do not hesitate to telephone your vet to verify that nothing might be wrong. The vet may want you to bring him in for a mini-checkup. Good luck.
