you dont know he will its called faith, and you just have to accept that just because you ask for something, no matter how important it is to you doesn't mean your going to get it.

Here's the thing. God answers all prayers. YOU are attached to how the prayer is answered. By "healing your lips" - you have it in your head that your lips will no longer be chapped or whatever. But the Universe is PERFECT at all times. It might not seem perfect that your lips are chapped - but it is. There is some reason that you cannot see - that you have the lips you have.
As for you praying to God to love your neighbor and show compassion - you have those powers within you. God gave them to you as your nature. Prayers are sometimes simply using your brain and making changes. God is not a big daddy up in the sky that judges you and tells you what you can and can't have. God is a power. It's the power of LOVE and it works through you - and all souls.
All prayers are answered - and the Universe and everything in it is PERFECT just as it is - and just as it is not. Sometimes it's hard to have faith that it truly is that way. But it is. God is good - all the time.
Namaste!

It really depends on your relationship or belief in God. Some view Him as being involved in our every move with a definate plan like He's the great chess player and we are pawns moved around for His enjoyment. If you believe that, then it seems that you will pray to understand what God wants of you, not what you want from Him.
Others believe that He has given us freewill to chose His way or not. If you believe that, then your faith that He exists and wants specific things of you will lead you to try to live up to His expectations (or desires) of you.
With your neighbor las summer, maybe instead of looking for the feeling of love towards him, you could have just started treating him with kindness, knowing that this is what God wanted of you.
As for your lips, that is not stupid at all. Paul had a "thorn in his side" and that could have been chapped lips. Moses wasn't physically perfect either. We all deal with discomfort and illness. Perhaps the prayer could be to find a way to deal with it rather than for healing. You know, the difference is between asking God to do it or asking God to show you how to do it.
I don't believe that once you pray you are supposed to have faith that it is already done, so I can't help you with that. But I do believe that faith is placed in God and His will... He doesn't have to do anything in order for me to believe. Because I am, I believe.
I hope this is helpful

Hello!
God is in the midst right now, and he hears every word you say and knows every thought you think. Even though God works in HIS way, He knows and gives you exactly what you NEED even before you ask for it. Do not run yourself crazy about why God is "NOT" answering your prayers. It's not meant for you to know. God works on HIS time; not yours...Plus, nobody can tell you when and how God is going to answer. When you pray to the Lord, pray for it once and let it go because it's already answered. Okay, what if you said that you were going to your child's baseball game, and he kept asking you if you were going, and you know the whole time that you are going--wouldn't that make you upset or make it feel as if your child had no confidence in you?? It's the same scenerio with God. God will supply your every need. Stop trying to figure Him out and He will heal you. Please build up your faith...it's easier said than done...ask God to come into your heart first before you ask Him to do something. If you're not reading the Bible, I'd strongly suggest you read it because there are people going through the same things you are going through and you can see how God worked it out for them. At the same time, you're developing your relationship with God. Forget what people say when they claim there's no God...they're full of the devil's spirit and try to stray you away from God.

I used to constantly pray to G-d to give me strength to deal with my anxieties or problems. I felt like I was getting no answer or help. Then one day I realized I have all the strength I needed -- I just needed help in actually using it.
No amount of chapstick will help your lips if, for example, you don't realize you're biting them all the time. And no amount of compassion will help if a neighbor is annoying you to the point that you bite your lips. You may already have what you need to deal with these things in a good way, you just need help in seeing some connection perhaps?

Don't pray just one time and leave it - pray until the change comes or until you sense a "release" in your spirit that it is done. You are fighting spiritual forces that want to block the answer to your prayer. Daniel prayed 21 days for a specific answer to prayer and when the answer arrived the angel said that the spiritual entity called "the prince of Persia" withstood him and he had to wait for reinforcements from Michael - an angel greater in power. When you prayed to love your neighbor more - did you pray that God would increase your neighbors blessings, give him health, meet his needs, draw him closer to God etc or did you just vaguely ask God to give you more love for him? Did you put "feet" to your prayers and go over and offer to bless him in some practical way, like mow his yard or just chat over a cup of coffee. Chapped lips get that way because of weather conditions, do you keep them covered when out in cold weather or do you catch yourself constantly "licking" your lips (that will cause them to chap too). God does answer fervent, persistent prayer of a righteous man. Is there things in your life that are not like God and that may be blocking your answers? God does answer prayer but you have to do your part too. God bless.

You continue to stand in faith until you see it come to pass. You must also get it settled in your heart that it is God's will to heal your lips. He doesn't get pleasure out of your chapped lips. You can't always go by what you feel. You may not like your neighbor but God can strengthen you to walk in love towards them. Faith goes deeper than feelings. He loves you. Get settled in his promises that He is faithful and it is his will to help you. Sometimes it happens the next day and sometimes it takes time. But God's timing is perfect. If you don't see it immediately doesn't mean He isn't at work on your behalf.

JBecause its god's will. Proof: if you get hurt its god's will. If you don't get hurt its god's will.. Another good thing to hold on to is: God will take care of everything. Did he take care of everything in Alabama last week? How about the bus full of athletes that flipped over a guide rail? O.K., the part I really gotta know is.....was it his Will or did he take care of Everything, no matter how hard those folks prayed and went to church. If it was his will, why the H*** would he WILL a killer tornado and dead athletes? What sort of purpose could there be? How bout New Orleans? Is he really a "Just" god? Children are raped, murdered, he's "letting" drugs ruin lives. Was that his will?? Their parents prayed...were sure god would deliver them. Right?? Right. Wake up people, wake up. Religion is for simple minded people.

That's a difficult answer to give because since you already know that God will answer every prayer with a "yes" that is according to his will to answer that way then you have the basic understanding of the primary condition that must be met.
When you asked God to show you how to have greater love for your neighbor it is certainly in God's will for us to show his love for our neighbors. But how He might choose to answer that prayer and in what time you would know that it was answered is hard to say.
For instance, God doesn't take away our feelings. He doesn't suddenly transform us into Christ like individuals who can show love to everyone we meet. It is a life long process of the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit who works on the areas of our lives that God wants to work on first, not the ones that we choose. God may want to work on some other area of your life right now.
As to your lips always being chapped, there are plenty of Christians who have physical infirmities that God doesn't heal just like Paul who asked God three times to take away the thorn in his side and God told Paul that his grace would be sufficient for him.
I hope that helps you a little bit. I'm not saying that God won't heal you, I'm just saying that He may want you to seek his grace and look forward to the time when He will make everything right again.
Revelation 21:3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." 5 And he who was seated on the throne said, "Behold, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." 6 And he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. 7 The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
Edit- If you want to show God's love to your neighbors then you should learn about what that type of love looks like by reading 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 and you should know that it isn't a feeling of loving them it's a conscious choice to act in that manner like God does.
Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Since you know it's the " will of God"...Why are you asking us?
"God" is not a Genie- You can't make the infinite Energy do anything in that order...There is so much doubt within you that anyone reading this will surely attest to it. Remove your selfishness and be sincere and put forth the effort in Yourself. Refrain from desperation. End of story...Haven't you heard?..
You Can Not Petition the Lord with Prayer!!!!!

Did you try to show compassion? About your constantly dried lips, just go to a doctor. Somethings you just don't pray for. God has three answers to prayer. 1.No, 2. Not yet, 3.Yes. DIn't losee faith becuse of your unanswered prayers. Everyone has had at least one prayer that was never answered.
