Ok, so me and my friends are renting a limo for prom. The Limo is $1,250 +.34% gratutity + .07% sales tax. Is there sales tax on the gratuity? Can anyone please tell me the total this comes out to be....I know this seems really dumb but these people are stressing me out and i can't think straight!!!

Are you saying it is 34% gratuity? If so, your bill will be 1792.25. The tax will only be added to the cost of the limo. Not the tip.

I do not believe there is sales tax on the gratuity. The total bill should be around $1,800 This is an approximate amount. Geez, where do you live? This sounds really expensive. I hope you have a lot of friends all spitting the cost of the limo. Have Fun though and don't be stressed out or you'll be unable to have a good time. You don't have to rent a limo!!! Just do what is best for YOU. Your girlfriend should understand and not try to add more stress to your life.

I, as do others, believe that you misplaced a few decimals. If that is the case, then the gratuity is not taxed...normally, and the total is:

(1250)*(1+.34+.07)=1762.50
=(1250)+(1250*.34)+(1250*.07)
=(1250)+(425) +(87.50)
cost + gratuity + tax
Hope this or some one else's similar answer helps.

a good planning figure is $1800. States taxes and gratuities vary so rounding up saves you stress in the long run.

There shouldnt be tax on gratuity. If the tax is only .07, tax is 88cents. Tip is 4.25 if yu have the right numbers. so all together it would be 1255.13. that is if yur numbers are right. your tax is low!!

I believe it would not be taxed in which case your total bill would be 1792.25 but actually when doing the math, if you do sales tax first or second its the same thing.

1250*1.07*1.34=1792.25
