I love math and it is my major. I am just a freshman in college so I still have time to change my major but I really want to do something with math. What jobs could I get with a math degree?

I'm also a math major. I'm going to teach high school, but there are options outside of education as well. Some people become actuaries which means they work for insurance companies and use probabilities to calculate risks. There are usually good opportunities in the government; I have some former classmates working for the NSA. There is also the possibility to get into finance either related to accounting or financial planning. You could dabble in economics, the sciences, or computer science as well to broaden your math major to related disciplines.

Try to get an internship either for the summer or during the school year so that you can try out a job in your field. Talk to the professors in the math department to see what other students from your school do with their math majors. And, above all, do what you like!

Actuaries gets a commission ok and those are often math majors. My daughter tells me that persons who love math, yet do not choose to easily coach math do ok in electric powered engineering (her important). Even the different training interior the degree are rather much completely math appropriate. very almost any style of engineering has an rather severe point of math in touch. it somewhat is actual of pc engineering as nicely and persons with sturdy math qualifications frequently think of logically (like a working laptop or pc). those 2 ranges additionally basically choose one extra type in math to get a math minor and that i might upload that those 2 have the perfect salaries for graduating college scholars. do not enable everyone inform you to not do nicely in math. chortle of their face once you're pulling in a beginning salary of $60,000 a year after commencement!
