If he's your BF of 2 years it should be easy to ask. If you're looking for something romantic, I suggest you lead him on a treasure hunt. Send him to all of the places where the two of you have history, picking up a little short story of the history, and the clue to the next spot, finally leading him to you. Then just ask him.

doing something big is for someone you arent dating or dont know well.just flat out ask him.he probably already assumes you two are going together so just ask.
