A 1 kiloton bomb is a block buster and a 1 megaton bomb is a city buster. And I wouldn't want to be in the vacinity of either.

a ton depends on the unit. A metric ton is 1000 kgs, whereas an imperial ton is 2000 lbs.
If you are talking about yields of nuclear weapons they use metric tons.
