Hello~
Being online is an area where you never know whom your chatting with nor their age. It is safe to say the best rule of thumb is to NOT go to deep in your chats, make plans to meet etc etc.. There is one main reason for that in which a lot of men make horrible mistakes and that is ending up in a sting. Some yes do need to get caught while others where indeed mislead by someone not of legal age.

My suggestion to you is stay clear for your own good. There are other ways of meeting nice, decent, educated & respectful women. You just have to think outside the box go out of your own comfort zone to meet people sometimes.

But never trust someone online in chat rooms, IM's, emails etc telling your they are a certain age and please don't go by photo's either. They do copy and paste!! It's just not something I advise anyone to do now days especially men!!!

I'm a woman myself but I don't up behold my own gender because I know many can be dangerous works in the making!!

Take care and always stay alert!!

You don't. Sometimes people will get online and pretend they are someone they are not. There is no real way to determine whether or not they are the age they say they are. It sounds stupid I know, but it really is so. All I can suggest is you be very careful, I hope my answer helps you.

It relies upon on what you're utilising. If this is yahoo messenger, then once you open chat window it could be come across interior the best left nook, good under communication and under their call and status.

speak to them on the phone (if you can't meet them in person.) You can get a better feeling about waht someone is all about with a phone conversation.

yea, u can't... so be really careful, dude... if ur over 18, it could spell real trouble... do not go to meet them if u are unsure... just take it slow and through the things they talk about and their grammar and stuff, you'll be able to tell..

You can't, but you should definately keep the chat decent until you know for sure, and you should definately ask them so that when they tell you they aren't you know you have to keep it out of the gutter.

Well in this world we live in now, I guess you really don't unless you actually know the person or have seen them face to face.

You don't. That's why you don't chat to people on the internet. It's dangerous. Unless you know them in the real world, don't get into it.

Trust me--I've been there. You HAVE to be careful.
