NO NO NO - Don't give ALL three tabs, dahling! You'll make the cat sick! You must weigh your cat. Then read the dierections for use on the bottle of prazequantel. I think it is 1/2 tab for a 5 or 7 lb cat (can't remeber for sure now). My 7 lb kitten needed only 1/2 a tab; but my 15 lb cat needed 1 whole tablet. I needed to dose them ONLY ONCE. If you find that your cat still has tapeworms, dose him again TWO weeks after you gave the first dose.

How do you know your cat has tapeworms? Did you get the medication from your vet? How much does your cat weigh?

You should give whatever dose your vet recommended. If you bought this medication at a store (which it kind of sounds like) give the weight-appropriate dose. Tapeworms are carried by fleas so one dose should kill it and your cat will not be reinfected unless/until it eats another flea which is carrying tapeworm larvae.

Should be on the package. It goes by weight and I think 1/2 tab sounds right 3 pills seems a little much. But call your vet

I don't know, you should probablyask the vet, becase even if someone does answer you, what if they are just taking a guess, or they really don't kow, or possibly they areno 100% accurate. What if they gave that much to their cat, but they forgot to mantion, that Fluffy died the next week, for some unknown reason! No offense to anyone who alresady answered this, or might.

i work for a vet. 3 tablets of praziquantel sounds like a little much for a cat. unless your cat is extremly heavy. 3 tablets is for about 30# dog. if the vet prescribed 1/2 tablet do that if you do not remember , call the vet

They just gave me this for my cat. I was instructed to give her 1& 1/2 pills & then to give her the remaining 1 & 1/2 pills in three weeks. Just to be sure though, maybe you could just give your vet a quick call just to double check.

What did the vet say to do? Doesn't seem likely that you would give all the meds at once, though.
