in the starting up, i concept this became a large waste of time and potential on the area of the Virginia living house, yet now i'm no longer so particular. After questioning about it, i don't think of it truly is a nasty theory in any respect. fantastically because it became no longer an "apology" yet a "truth of be apologetic about." An apology implies concieved guilt and admission of responsibility; a truth of be apologetic about would not. An apology will open the door for economic reparations, even as a truth of be apologetic about gained't. And believe me, that door to reparations will be tried any day now.... particularly, i do not see a issue with each and each of the former accomplice States issuing similar statements of be apologetic about. which could effectively eliminate the drained previous argument of "my large-large-large-large-grandfather became a slave, so that you OWE ME THIS AND THIS!" obviously, there'll be those which will say a truth of be apologetic about - even an finished-blown apology - is only no longer sufficient, and they are going to then attempt to open that door to reparations. besides the undeniable fact that it gained't artwork. by technique of that aspect public opinion could have swung any opposite direction, and something of the civilized u . s . will see that even after the former accomplice States have all issued "statements of be apologetic about," there'll stay area of the black community which will nonetheless want a handout - something for no longer something - and that area of the community will finally be known for what it truly is, and could be scorned and skipped over. And get no longer something, it truly is only what they deserve. sure, slavery became an abomination and a blight on the face of our large u . s ., yet in case you want to position blame for it and get an apology from someone over it, then you definately'd more suitable positive be prepared to position the blame squarely contained in the laps of our Founding Fathers who allowed a structure that did not outlaw slavery to be ratified, and also you'll more suitable positive assume the apology to come back from the U. S. authorities and in no way the Southern states. after all, once you're going to carry the ancestors to blame for the misdeeds of the lifeless, then you definately'd more suitable positive flow after the federal authorities because they are the ancestors of those to blame.

Virginia is not an entity so those people who are thinking of doing this are stupid as far as I am concerned.
And I live in VA and do not feel like I have anything to apologize for....I am NOT saying that I agree with slavery or racism....I AM saying that I had nothing to do with it so I have nothing to apologize for.
Am I sorry that slavery happened? Sure.
Do I disagree with racist? Yes.
Do I owe anyone an apology for my state's history? NO

Did you know that in the aftermath of World War II, not one Catholic Nazi Leader was excommunicated from the Church? Not Heinrich Himmler, not Joseph Goebbels, not Reinhard Heydrich, not Rudolf Hoess.
You actually think they might apologize for something?

I'm not Christian, but I'll gladly apologize
on their behalf. I'm Apache and many of my ancestors were persecuted by the church.
I have (mostly) given up my anger towards Christians, and I have even seen the truth from their
perspective.
So yes, I agree.
