The Phantom of the Opera is the best, hands down
Oklahoma
State Fair
Moulin Rouge
The King and I
South Pacific
Basically anything by Rodgers and Hammerstien
Oliver!
Les Miserables, musical concert stage version
The Sound of Music
Flower Drum Song
My Fair Lady
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Singing in the Rain
Fiddler on the Roof

The way your entry was worded, I assumed that you meant "watch" as in on tv or dvd, not live.
There are many many more, but here is just a few to get started

Seeing as how you posted this in Performing Arts, and not the television section, I'd say the South Park and Blazing Saddles don't fit here. And they are mediocre at best.

Some really good newer musicals I recommend are "Wicked" and "Whistle Down the Wind". Of course, "Whistle Down the Wind" is only being performed in London, but if you ever get over there, it is highly worth it.

Some other musicals I would tell you to see are: Sunset Boulevard, Jeckell, Fiddler on the Roof, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Into the Woods, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Lion King, and Sweeney Todd.

I loved ALL of these musicals, and they are played all over the country in Off-Broadway performances.

One of my favorites is Fiddler on the Roof, we're doing that this year for my school and I'm Hodel, so excited... (it's symbolic for my high school because it shows that you need to stick together through all the bad times, and my school recently had a student die and six hostages from a shooting, so I can totally relate)

I also like Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, and the Music Man

Orlando babe, luv 2 dance, and jess-

thank god you guys said RENT. i would have had to do something very violent if no one had said that. although RENT is the all time best musical production, its not great to see as a first. you might want to start w/ something more classic like POTO or Annie or Oklahoma, The King and I ect.... because those are more classic and give you a better taste of the drama industry. THEN SEE RENT. it gives you a whoel new prospective on life. its so raw and fresh. set as a rock oprea, its completly new and totally mind-blowing <3
