I have never had such pain (other than labor). I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed and mt whole face, head and jaw hurts. I have a massive lump on the jaw line...is all of this normal? When can I eat and drink again? I only had the procedure done this morning, but I can't even drink, I get a shooting pain when I do. Please only serious answers, I'm really not in the mood for scarism. Thanxs in advance for anyone who helps.

Yes it hurts like hell for the first day. If it still hurts tomorrow I'd call in and ask to be seen. Didn't they give you meds for the pain? If not call them now!! And get something for the pain, I know they gave me some good ones when I had it done.

Call your oral surgeon and ask if you can possibly have a dry socket.
