It can range from an extremely unpleasant memory to extreme depression, anxiety, acting out, and any assortment of problems in between. Without therapy, you find a way to cope with the pain caused by the abuse any way you can. Alcohol, over-working, promiscuity, lots of things can be used to self-medicate. The most common effect is depression and difficulty with relationships. It is never too late to get help, though, and to sort out the self-defeating self-medicating behaviors from what will really help.
(Only a very small minority of victims become abusers)

Alot of things, but in my personal experience, its caused me to make poor decisions when it comes to men and sex, low self-esteem, an eating disorder, depression, anxiety, trouble with money, drugs, alcholol.
Most of all that is just using the wrong things to coap with the feelings I have over what happened, the decisions I make relationship wise (letting guys use me for sex and then leave) happen, because thats what happened when I was younger, and I have a hard time believing that a guy would want anything other then that, and if they do act interested in more, I push them away.
Basically I'm lucky, because I understand the connections from my abuse to the decisions I make now, and I am working on changing those things. But comfortable habits are hard to break, and its a real struggle. I think that anyone that has been molested as a child should definately be in therapy, because these things need to be worked out.

I am not an expert but from what I have seen and learned there are a few ways that it can effect someone. There are those who turn into the molesters, those who find significant others that are molesters, and those who become phycologically effected on a severe level and end up in theropy most of their lives. It is much like chidhood physical abuse, a child who grows up abused can have much the same outcome. An abused woman for example, most likely has been abused in her childhood and unwittingly looks for the same characteristics in her significant others. It is also possible that she becomes the abuser or ends up in theropy for most of her life. Again I am not an expert but I hope that this helped!

If I am reading your question correctly, you are asking about the adult molester's reactions to what he has done, how it effects him in the future.
Hopefully that is an answer he can give you from behind bars!
A person who does such things is very selfish, thinking only of himself, and not grasping the lifelong damage within the child.
This adult is an expert at manipulation, at telling lies, at threatening harm all just to get his own jollies.
Unfortunately, I doubt he feels much in the way of saddness or remourse for his actions, in that people who try this once do it over and over again.

Overprotectivness of your children, all children, others, learning not to trust "the crowd" quick and irrational and hateful judgement of others, guilt, violent, defensive and offensive behavior, harbored unforgivness, "willing" to believe the worst in everyone else.
"But" besides that, things run along like a "smooth running" clock !

You could go to a doc that specializing in hyponotherapy and they could do age regression to find out exactly what happened to determine how it affects your current behavior. Either way, I think you should get help.
