your skin color plays a role too. certain colors don't show up as well. i have a medium skin tone(i'm latina) and the colors i chose didn't show up as well. the yellow especially. so if you are on the medium side or darker, ask the tattoo artist his or her opinion on the colors and stuff. plus, the good shops offer free touch ups!

Tattoos tend to fade after a while. Especially color tattoos. Black tattoos may turn green or fade to a dull black.

I have one tattoo that is all black- I got it 6 years ago and it hasn't faded yet. Like other people have said, the sun contributes to fading. So does the quality of ink. Find a highly reputable tattoo artist in your area. My experience has been, the better the artist, the longer it takes to fade.

Yes, they can become dull and fade. It's natural. Certain things can make them fade faster, the biggest color-enemy of tattoos being the sun. Also, it depends on the person, some people don't take some colors as well as others.

That being said, there is still hope! The beauty of 'touch-ups'! :D

It depand on the ink used to make the tatoo. i have 5 tatoos and 2 are 6 years old and one is 10 years old. The ones that are six years old have fade because the ink sucked and the one thatr is 10 years old is a bright as I day I first got it.

Yes tattoos do fade after awhile. I have a small butterfly tattoo I got on my lower back that is black and purple. I got it 5 years ago and it has faded a bit. Luckily they are very easy to get touched up though.

Yes the color does fade after while...a couple weeks after first getting the tattoo the ink will begin to peel and the ink will begin to fade...after a while you may want to get the tattoo recolored

Well black tattoos will be more easy to touch up over time then multi-colored tattoos because they are just one color and therefore will take less time to work on. By taking the proper measures when you have a tattoo, like wearing sunscreen, maximizes the life and brightness of the tattoo.

Yes they do. Both color and black. I have both. You can always get them touched up, but it takes quite a while to fade and become dull.
