Ok - you gotta read this!

So - I was at the point in my life I wanted to start dating, so I joined an online dating service (Demanding Job Leaves Little Time for Play) Well I met this absolutely wonderful guy who I must admit that I've fallen for and he tells me that he cares for me as well. Actually he's told me that he's falling in love with me. Well, he wants us to date so that we can get to know each other more. (His suggestion, mutual agreement) Because I am a strong believer in being honest and faithful, I felt it was necessary for me to make my profile hidden. When I went online to do so, he was on there. I know this may be wrong of me, but for the past several days, I actually have seen him on there again. My questions are (1) what should I do? (2) what should I say to him (3) Any other advice.

Don't get me wrong - I'm nobody's fool, but I would welcome some mature advice from some one on the outside.

Have you actually met this guy in person? If not, do! It's amazing how someone may seem perfect until you meet in person. Anyway, while love at first sight may happen, it takes more than that to build a relationship. Love is like inspiration for an artist. To have art (or a relationship in this analogy), you have to put in the work! Maybe this guy is a liar, maybe he's immature, or maybe the word "love" is something uses to mean "I'm interested in you." I would get to know him over the course of a few months before using the "L" word. I'd keep dating/meeting other people too. Why settle so fast? He's certainly not! Also, don't fall for the first guy who says he loves you. I know because when I wasn't dating for a long time, it was easy to see what I wanted to see. TAke a step back and try to see what's really there. Spend more time with him! Dating a variety of people will help you be more confident and choosy as well.

Oh, this EXACT thing happened to one of my best friends. You need to confront him and tell him that you can't be in a committed relationship with someone who still has his net out for prospects. What's good for the goose is good for the gander honey..and back! So if he says some BS like he "just forgot" to delete his profile then you have to decide if you want to give him a chance or not. I say not..but then again...
Let him know trust is something that's earned. Make sure he's attentive to you..and if your gut ever tells you he's sneaking around..trust it.

If you want to be really sneaky you can do what my friend did and ask a friend to create a profile and see if he responds to it. But be prepared to see him fall for it. :(!
