First of all, the puppy shouldnt even have been weened yet. But you already got it so never mind.......
If your roomate really wants one and she/he must make sure they have the time. Also it is actually best if a pupp grows up with another pup because then they will think that they are actually a dog and not a human. They only problem would be that you roomate would get a much smaller dog that a german/rotweiler mix. That would really be the only problem.

I hope you have a long, happy, and healthy life with your new pupp!!! =)

The puppy really shouldn't be away from his mum until he is 8 weeks old. There are a few problems that you MAY encounter due to having a young puppy. He could end up aggressive, overly protective, shy, timid or hyper he is older. Early socialization is very important so that your puppy gets used to things like children, people other than yourself, cats, dogs, other non-canine pets, cars, electrical equipment (blender, juicer, food processor etc.), music etc. Anything that he may get scared of when he is older.

He should still be on moist puppy chow now. You need to contact whoever you got him from and ask them what he was eating before you got him. This is important so that the food change isn't too dramatic for him. Dogs can get an upset tummy if you change their food too quickly.

Your room mate should get a puppy only when your puppy has had all of his necessary vaccinations (3 sets; when 6-8 weeks old, 10-12 weeks old and 14-16 weeks old) so that it reduces the risk of Parvo with either dog. Don't forget to get him to the vet for a check up to make sure he is healthy. If you got him from a breeder, I can guarantee you the person wasn't a reputable breeder. There are many health problems that occur in Rottweilers, even more in German Shepherd. Be prepared to have money on had if anything goes wrong with your dog later in his life (eg; hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, bloat etc.).

first is the pup eating and drinking on its own? If he is great, if he isn't blend dry food w/warm water into a soft mush, he'll lap on it more easily.
second, Do you have a kennel you can put him in at night time? Kennels are great for puppies, since it gives them a sense of security. Place an old shirt, t-shirt something with your smell on it, so he can relax being alone.
Third, where do you plan on potty training indoors or out?
Fourth has he had his puppy shots? If not get them.
At his age Parvo is the deadest killer for pups

You need to get into training classes right away. It sounds like you know little to nothing about dogs. Tell your roommate to wait until your pup is about 6 months old before getting another pup. It is very hard to raise 2 puts the same age.

A 6 week old puppy isnt supposed to be away from its mother yet so youll have to bottle feed it if it doenst have any teeth. Make sure you see a vet often or when ever the dog starts to act oout of the ordinary. And it will need alot of attention.
