You can purchase prepared mustard at any grocery store or even a retail store that sells condiments. Prepared Mustard is the same kind you would put on sandwiches like yellow, or spicy brown or dijon...etc. The reason they don't just state Mustard in the recipe is because many people who have cooked a lot would consider mustard to be either the seeds or the ground powder form.

I hope this helps! I know it threw me the first time I came across it....I kept thinking "how is it prepared and what makes it better for cooking than my mustard in the fridge?" lol!

"Prepared" mustard is any usual wet mustard sold in a jar or (in some countries) a tube, and there are hundreds of kinds, although sweet yellow and brown spicy types predominate in North America and germantic Europe, and sharp dijon styles in much of romantic southern Europe.

Do you mean (instead) dry mustard?
