Having a couple of servings of Sprite or any lemon-lime flavored soda each day will probably not be detrimental to one's health, however, without proper exercise and a diet consists of mainly sodas and sweets may not be healthy for the long run. Sprite has 140 calories per 8 oz serving. For one 12 oz can, it's 210 calories. Now, one table spoon of sugar is about 15 calories, so that means for every can of Sprite you drink, you're eating an equivalent of 14 table spoons of sugar. 2 cans = 24 table spoons. Using this to illustrate the amount of sugar one's taking in when consuming Sprite or similar sodas may help your friend think twice about drinking more of it each day. Just an idea.

Any soda contains sodium...intake too much and it can cause bloating. The sugar in a non-diet drink can cause cavities. And the empty calories (I believe about 130 per drink) can cause weight gain, since the body doesn't feel quite as full from liquid calories.
It is okay to drink soda every now and then, or even one a day. She just needs to make sure she is not going over her daily caloric intake and is eating a balanced diet. Brushing your teeth after the drink will also help cut back on cavities.

I don't think there is anything wrong with drinking sprite everyday. I drink Pepsi everyday and I am now 46 and I have not had any prombles. The only thing that is will make you do is gain weight. It is hard to loose that weight once you get older like me.

Well if it is not diet sprite, then weight gain happens. Scientific studies have shown that drinking one can of pop with sugar in it every day can cause a weight gain of 10 to 15 pounds a year. Also refined sugar such as they use in pop robs your body of vitamin C and calcium
So not only could she gain weight she could also develop a vitamin and calcium deficiency..

For one thing, the constant sugar helps wear the enamel off your teeth & so weakens them. Also, the sugar--and that much of it with whatever else your friend ingests--will make for lotsa cavities, and...the dreaded root canal!
