I got my Shih Tzu when she was 3 months old, and her eyes were dark brown. She is now 15, and started to get cataracts this year, which is a blue haze covering the brown.
She can see fine some days, and sometimes can't hardly see a thing and runs into stuff.
But I wouldn't go by the eye color as others have replied stating that he will go blind. Some dogs go blind, some don't. Depends on their hereditary also.
Just like humans, some get cataracts, some don't. I don't believe that the eye color has anything to do with it.

They do sometimes have a sort of blue glaze on there eyes as puppies which does go as they get older, but i have never seen a shih-tzu with crystal blue eyes?????
If you look at the breed standard they are to be dark brown.
Maybe it is mixed with another breed?

Not so sure about puppies but just rescued a 1 yr old ShihTzu. She is blind in 1 eye (eye has turned white) and the other eye is a beautiful blue but also turning white. Her vision is impaired in this eye too. However, I don't know if this is the same with all blue eyes. Ask your vet to check the pup out.
BTW my other Shih Tzu has brown eyes.

my Shih Tzus eyes in certain lights look like crystals, beautiful but only in certain lights. They have been like that since they were puppies.

From what I know, like cats and horses, animals with blue eyes usually become blind later in life. I think the normal eye color is brown. And, this may not be any help at all, it may or may not change color. I'm leaning towards 'no' though.
Sorry for my uncertainty

blue eyes in shih tzus are not abnormal, but it is considered a fault, which means its not unique but its not supposed to be that way, im a dog groomer, and i have seen them with one blue eye, marbled eyes (part brown part blue) and two blue eyes
so i wouldnt worry and i doubt highly that he will go blind but they will not change to brown

Yes that's normal, just like a birth mark. But could cause some earlier ageing signs of blindness.
