It's like $300+. The good thing about real hair is exactly that: you can curl it, dye it, whatever you want. Synthetic hair basically has to stay however you bought it, it will melt and ruin. I don't know if you're braiding all the way down or just braiding the top. Obviously if you're braiding all the way down, then synthetic is fine. If not, I'd invest in real hair. Added: Yes, they sell curly synthetic hair because people can't style it the way they want so they try to style it different ways. You can find that easily.

It is probably a combination of both. Her real hair is long, but most Hollywood celebs add hair extensions to give them an appearance of thick and luscious hair.
