To put in my best towards saving this human race, and making their overall (as in all 6 billion and counting) lives better than they were when I was born. I can't save it all, and even if i live to be 150 i'll only be a step in the right direction. But a 1000 mile journey begins, and will end, with a single step. Be it first, last or 300th, I'd just like to be a step.

I'm an agnostic and there is no consciousness after death.

Only you know what's your purpose! I know mine and I don't have to tell you or anyone else. For without purpose we are nothing, just here. And that is very sad, sad for you and everyone else who has no purpose because you were born to fulfil a purpose and you don't even find the time to find out what it is! At the end of the day time is all you have! Find out what it is.

Doesn't it seem to take a long time to find one's purpose, and then so short to actually do it?

I'd like to think I've helped others do good things, and they may help yet others, and it may go on for longer than all our time added together.

Life on earth serves no useful purpose. The wish of GOD for man is to live with Him eternally in the spiritual. Life in flesh and blood in the domain of Satan is altogether meaningless. Ecclesiastes 1:2. The Bible says: "Each man's life is but a breath. Man is a mere phantom as he goes to and fro. He bustles about, but only in vain; he heaps up wealth, not knowing who will get it." Psalm 39:5&6.

The purpose of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is to restore man to spiritual life with GOD in a grand reconciliation. Baptism, powered by the New Covenant, unites you with Jesus Christ in His death and resurrection. Your sins are forgiven, washed in the blood of the Lamb. You have been born of water. You are spiritual in Christ. Your spirit that died to GOD in the Garden of Eden is now alive and can be born of Spirit. John 3:3-8. Your life then serves the purpose of GOD in creation and you live with Him forever.

To fulfill whatever purpose God has designed for me. How will I know when that purpose has been accomplished? When I am resting safely with Him in Heaven.

My main purpose is to be conformed to the image of Christ in character and power, so that I may hear Him say on that fateful day, "Well Done".

As a Catholic, I believe that our life on earth is only a journey before we die when we enter into our heavenly home. This journey also allows us to prepare ourselves by repenting our sins before we go to heaven.
