I would suggest trying to use a friend's computer (or school, or library) to move all your music files to temporarily. Make sure they don't have their iTunes set to sync with *their* iPod, or you'll lose it all! So manually move your music from your iPod to a playlist in their iTunes and save it. Then open up your iTunes on your computer and see if you can get it to work. You should be able to sync up your files. In the future, there is a program that backs up all your info (play times, etc), but I don't remember the name. I read about it at the Apple iPod discussion pages and elsewhere (I was searching about backing up/restoring your iTunes library---it should be fairly easy to google. It was almost impossible for me to find a NON iPod one, which is what I was looking for!)

I do think the Apple.com support/discussion pages are a better place to ask about stuff like this than here. But good luck to you!

I remember this happening to me. When you try to link the ipod to itunes it says something like "trying to collaborate to itunes shall delete all existing memory". I think youre pretty much screwed on this one, unless you can access the ipod's files elsewhere. Try going to My Computer then selected the drive which will be called 'yourname'sipod' and then moving accross the songs/videos etc that way. Good luck

i dont think you can... pain in the you know where i know. if you're using a mac you might be able to, i've heard of a friend doing this but not using a pc interface.

you could try connecting to the ipod and opeining it up and getting to the files thru my computer and selecting the ipod drive, you may be able to copy the files from there to the desktop then import then into itunes, but i think they've thought of this and stopped you doing it.
