Leaking door on Ford Focus?

I have a ford focus, 56reg, when I open the drivers door after a period of rain, water floods out of the lock hole in the side of the door. Ford is telling me this is a "water door" which sounds a load of baloney to me. Has anyone else got this problem, how can it be fixed.
