Has there been any released claims concerning Anna Nicole Smith tragic death? Yes. Has there been any released claim of the star suffering from lupus? Yes, there has been that too. More hush-hush on the lupus front but there has been claims circulating around that Anna Nicole Smith may have been suffering from lupus.
A Dr. Bob Lahita has revealed that the reality star may have been suffering from lupus, a disease which affects the immune system. And this claim has been slowing hitting the Entertainment circuit. Access Hollywood briefly mentioned something about it and I also believe that Entertainment Tonight has done a piece the whole “lupus” theory as well.
Which when you think about the drugs Topamax, and Dilaudid that were found in her hotel room after she had died, and if being a lupus sufferer you would know drugs as such are given to lupus sufferers to control the pain.
Lupus isn’t something to kid around. I mean, it’s not something one would feel like they have an ache or feel tired to the point where they can sit down for a few minutes and then run around again. Aches and fatigue on a lupus front is a death sentence. It’s chronic and extreme. You feel as though someone has hijacked your body and that’s why many doctors will prescribe painkillers to their lupus suffering patients.
Prednisone, cortisone injections, painkillers is the usual cocktail in handling the disease which isn’t a cure for lupus for all it does, these medications, is mask the disease in hopes that the sufferer will go into remission and/or aid in helping the sufferer from experiencing a heavy flair up.
With that said and further looking into the claim of Anna Nicole Smith and her suffering from lupus I am not very educated on the matter of lupus and pregnancy and perhaps someone out there can fill me in on this but I would speculate that lupus sufferers would tend to have major flair ups during and after pregnancy. I bring this point up because Anna Nicole Smith just birth and I would imagine if she did suffer from lupus during the time and recovery of pregnancy and after pregnancy that would cause stress to the body and stressing the body out when lupus is involved causes flair ups and just having one bad flair up or even something as little as a cold can doom a lupus sufferer in.
All in all, it sounds like they’re grasping at straws here. Anna Nicole having lupus is just a little far-fetched to me. I mean, someone would have come out now with concrete evidence. It’s a tough disease to have, and I can’t imagine Anna would have been able to keep news like that from everybody, least of all Howard K. Stern, whom she supposedly “loved.”
paaatches –I wouldn’t wish lupus on anyone and I too share your fear for I am scared as well. I try not to show it because that’s just the type of person I am but yes, I do get scared from time to time. Like when I wake up in a hospital bed with eight stitches underneath my chin and a bunch of tubes sticking out of ever inch of my arm and I feel so tired that half the time I don’t even know who or where I am. Sure I may joke it off by telling people, “I can’t die, not yet. Come on, death’s door, please! I still haven’t bought myself a rocking chair and you know I love and always wanted a rocking chair. So, I can’t die not until I get my rocking chair and rock that chair out.” but when I am alone sometimes the thoughts of: I can really die from this, sets in and not that I can’t cope with that thought or those thoughts for I can for I accept this disease and all it’s complications. In reality what kills me is seeing the fear that this disease and what it does to someone who has it, not in me but in others. Just watching someone who loves you getting their heart ripped in two, just seeing that fear in their eyes pains me so. It pains me because I care. I care about everyone around me and I don’t want to see them worry, I don’t. That kills me. It kills me to the point to where I want to shake my fist at this disease and just yell, “How dare you rob me of my caring nature! How dare you cause those around me to worry! How dare you!” Hopefully, I will learn how to fear less and hope more. Hope for better grounds on one too many close calls.

Ok, even if she did die from lupus, which I hadn't heard, she certainly didn't do much to help her situation. That woman had major problems that I'm sure included drug abuse. While there is currently no cure, there are things you can do for lupus. Anna probably wasn't a star patient. I wouldn't go comparing myself to her, hon. For example, a diabetic who does nothing to control their blood sugar will not live as long as one who checks his or her blood sugar and watches their diet. Anna abused her body and she died. Whatever the findings of her autopsy, I'm sure her lifestyle will be found to have played a role in her death.

No, the medical examiner said on TV over the weekend that the lupus thing was a rumor. She may have had lupus but the medical examiner is not saying that was the cause of death. Also, he said that in the very rare case that you actually die from it, it's not a sudden death, you know months or even years in advance.

It was a rumour that she had lupus but i suppose it could be true, however her lifestyle choices were probably main reason she died young
For information on lupus try the following
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lupus_erythematosus gives general info
http://www.lupusuk.com - the uk lupus charity which i can recommend
http://www.uklupus.co.uk/facts.html - has a good message board, chat room area and is a good place to ask specific questions.
If you are following a "healthy lifestyle" it may be worth getting your symptoms checked out with doctor and rheumatologist,
It is simple to do a blood test for anti-nuclear antibodies (ANA) which is a screening test for lupus

Her doctor said it was unlikely to be lupus to have caused her death.
They don't know what killed her yet.
