This is why it is better tomarry within your own faith. I've been there- I am a Catholic married to a presbyterian.

A Catholic must go to pre-marriage instruction within the Catholic church, even if you marry in another church. The priest will help you get the dispensation you need to marry in another church. No big deal, it happens all the time...especially if the man is the Catholic, becasue it is traditional to marry in the bride's church.

You as the Catholic must sign a statement that you will rasie the children as Catholics- and your fiance must acknowlege your promise.

If you skirt around this and don't do it Catholic Kosher, then your marriage will not be valid in the eyes of the Church, and you cannot receive the Eucharist.

I suggest you and your fiance attend RCIA classes together. She does not need to convert, it can just be an introduction to Catholicism for her. Chances are, she doesn't want the children raised Catholic because she believes all the lies she has been told through the years, and she thinks she is going to "save" you from the Church.

That was the way my husband felt until he realised how much my faith meant to me- and he learned he had been lied to by his pastor about exactly what Catholics believe. He has been Catholic for 11 years now!

Do you mean "Roman" Catholic?

If so, yes....they would. I am Anglican....but I wouldn't do the ceremony. On principle.

Not without a long talkin'-to to the wife-to-be.

The church frowns on it but people still do it.

we just don't let any riffraff join our faith. we are the TRUE Church of God, so we have to screen for scum. so if you are protestant, sorry, you just won't do.

God bless!
