I do not believe so. If one is a Christian and follows the Bible's standards then they/we will not have any troubles. Its when people start following their own will and desires when people start having troubles.

no. its the same as it was back then. today's circumstances arent much different...but things have gotten a little worse...so it requires more faith. thats good..its strengthens our relationship with God and helps us to deepen our relationship. by ourselves...it is impossible to live by the Bible...to actually live by everything good...is impossible....but its made possible with God. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He will guide you. He will reveal the false things from the Truth..but u must also see for urself but u cant do it without God. all these things will lead to eternal Life with Jesus....through Jesus we enter the kingdom of Heaven. the Bible is not too restrictive...the circumstances are a little more difficult...but the rules have stayed the same....and so have the problems that we encounter. the Bible is not there for rules and regulations...but for a guide because God knows the circumstances get harder as life goes on....and we will easily become disorganized and get mixed in with the materiality of the world. i dont even know if materiality is a word but to me it makes sense, lol. but anyways thats why God is here....and thats why He has given us the Bible...He wrote it Himself...so it could not possibly be wrong. just like when people are kids...they think there parents are mean people who dont wanna let them do anything....as adults and kids we feel that God has too many restrictions on us sometimes...but in the end it turns out good. it always does as long as your following God. =]

The bible has become an icon, people mistake the Bible for religion, meaning they worship its words instead of the God they follow, what people need to remember is that GOD DID NOT WRITE THE BIBLE, the Bible is a book of LESSONS to follow it is not to be taken literally, people find many of the restrictions of the bible by misinterpreting what it is really saying, if you are serious about reading the bible, look a little deeper at what the underlying message of it is instead of taking it all to heart.

I think that would be a "yes".
The Bible was written mostly by either shepherds or descendants of a shepherd culture.
Shepherds tend to be extremely conservative, restrictive and prudish. Anthropologists have often commented that modern day beduoins are actually arrogant and believe that they are superior to all other ethnicities around them because of their pure life styles.

That's what satan told Eve, more or less, when he tempted her and Adam to sin. He convinced them that God was too restrictive in denying them to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Unless you understand that God loves you and His standards are only for your good then you will see them as restrictive. In the Old testaments He gave laws to live by that revealed to the people just how sinful they were because they couldn't keep them. In the New testament Jesus came to demonstrat perfect obedience to God, to pay the price for our sins by His death on the cross and to rise from the dead to give us eternal life. Why did He do it? Because He loved us. If we believe this and receive His sacrifice for our sins, we receive His spirit in our hearts that gives us a love for God and a desire to obey Him. Because we know He loves us we make the choice to live by the principles that are taught to us from the Bible because we see them not as being restrictive, but for our good. Of course, one has to believe in God and in Jesus to understand this.

Yes.
OT law isn't followed - just the "sane parts" like the 10 commandments. Other commandments, like mensturating women having to stay in tents, or stoning rebellious children to death, are ignored because they're just too immoral.
