If i were a consistent christian i would never visit a doctor. I would simply pray. Curiously, very few christians do this.
Is that dwindling faith?
Have faith you all!!! God saves!! Don't go to the doc!!!

What were doctors like when the Bible was written? Were there doctors? Why do you quote something that was written thousands of years ago before modern medicine? Do you live like they did thousands of years ago? I hope you do not use electricity. It is not in the Bible. Also getting water the way we do or driving a car. If you are so willing to live in the modern society, why not get a real education on how the Bible was put together and stop criticizing it. The bible is a book of faith, not science.

1. I find your question a little bit stupid.
2.Jeremiah 8:22
22 Is there no balm in Gilead,
Is there no physician there?
Why then is there no recovery
For the health of the daughter of my people?
Luke 5:31
31 Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.
I believe that you are taking the verse out of context.
The Bible never tells someone not to go to a doctor when they are sick. Jesus was and is called "The Great Physician". He healed lepers, made the blind see, and made the lame walk. You need to read the BIble and quote the verse in context next time.
Would you tell me the Scriptural reference from where you found that verse?

Throughout the Jewish Laws are commandments to be observed by the priests in the tabernacle. At that time, they were the professionals.
For example, the guidelines for "leprosy" were actually civil health guidelines for small pox. The isolation of tents, quarantine of the people and inspections were consistent with communicable diseases, and the descriptions of "leprosy" fit the development of small pox.
(We also know now that small pox wiped out hundreds of thousands of people, possibly millions, between 1300 and 1100 BC, including several entire civilizations including the Hittites and the Ugarits on the coast.)

The Bible talks about people being treated by other people for illnesses and it doesn't say not to do that. As a Christian I know that all healing comes through God via whatever methods He may choose. People who refuse to seek medical help because they think that God should just heal them are committing the sin of presumption by testing God. It's like when the Devil told Jesus to jump off the top of the temple because God said that He would give his angels charge over Him lest He dash his foot against a stone.
2 Kings 20:5 "Turn back, and say to Hezekiah the leader of my people, Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD, 6 and I will add fifteen years to your life. I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city for my own sake and for my servant David's sake."
7 And Isaiah said, "Bring a cake of figs. And let them take and lay it on the boil, that he may recover."
Isaiah treated King Hezekiah with medicine. He didn't just heal him with a miracle.

Colossians 4:14
Luke, the beloved physician, sends you his greetings, and also Demas.
Acts 28:8-9
8 And it happened that the father of Publius was lying in bed afflicted with recurrent fever and dysentery; and Paul went in to see him and after he had prayed, he laid his hands on him and healed him.
9 After this had happened, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases were coming to him and getting cured.
In verse 8 the Greek word for "healed" is ιαÏαÏο. This word means "cured."
In verse 9, though it is a very different word that was translated "healed;" this time it is θεÏαÏεÏ
w; even if you don't know any Greek, you can say that word in English: therapy.
Some were miraculously healed, some were given therapy. What does the doctor do for you? He applies therapy, whether it is medicines or even surgery, the doctor treats you (me) with therapy.
When was the last time you saw someone healed of cancer? glaucoma? cataracts? hemophilia? melanoma? diabetes? hypertension? That's what I thought.

I think you got it wrong, it says nothing about that in the bible, but it does say have faith and trust, remember doctors become doctors because of their desire to heal they want to help humanity, and with that mindset they achieve alot. There is a lot of human suffering out there and when someone who is a healer assists they put all their effort into making you well again, don't distrust doctors, for without them we would all be in pain one way or another!

I think that the Bible also states that the Earthly body is a Temple, and that one should take care of said temple as if it were the house of God himself, and therefore letting yourself be sick because you didn't go to a doctor to be healed is negligent behavior and would be bad... cause your Letting Gods House break down. But that's just a biblical interpretation.
I believe that God wants us to trust in Him, but not depend on him for everything. God isn't gonna cure your Cold, but he's not gonna Send you to Burn in hell for going to a doctor to get it cured.

I have no idea where you got the "arm of flesh" idea but I'm inclined to believe it has more to do with not looking to people for your salvation but to God. God has given us minds and the ability to learn how to heal through medicine. To not use those gifts would be ridiculous.
It reminds me of a "joke" I heard once.
A man was in a flood. The water was rising and a boat came to save him. The man said "God will save me." As the water got higher he moved to the second floor. Again a boat came and he refused to leave saying, "God will save me." Finally the water was so high he had to sit on the roof. A helicopter came and he refused to go saying, "God will save me." He drowned. When he got to heaven he asked God, "Why didn't you save me?"
God's answer, "I tried three times."

Luke was a doctor and he was the apostle Paul's doctor. If God wants to use a doctor to cure someone I think it's ok. Even Jesus said The well do not have need of doctors and compared himself to one. So he knew about doctors and that the sick go to them. If Jesus had thought going to a doctor was a sin, he would have come out and said so.
