People with common sense don't think religious people have much common sense regarding their religion.

Common sense is anything but. It is often the blanket name people put on their own belief systems when faced with those who disagree with them.

Christianity is a belief system. It isn't thought to replace science by most Christians, any more than scientists belief sciene will replace all belief systems.

Imagine a world where there are no beliefs. Every sciene experiment would have to be done by every person.

Oh, that's right, didn't realize you didn't understand. YOU have a belief system. Mind you, it is based on some more evidene that some, but you have never seen even a tiny percentage of the things you accept as true. Most are things you assume are true because you've been told they are. You've never been to the moon, never seen a dinosaur, never tested the photos or bones for their chemical content or veracity.

Imagine if we could never speculate about anything but what can be scientifically proven, religion being just that, but organized.

What a world you would sentence us to! Not to mention how utterly unAmerican it is to think ANYONE should give up their beliefs because of your brilliant arguments.

You aren't impressing anyone. Go read up on some real freethinkers and some of the truly enlightened anti-religious thinkers and at least add something to the dialogue here rather than random insults.

They're boring, and don't help your case. Your age is showing, and due the use of grammar and spelling, I believe you are capable of much more.

Leave the insults to the children, and make a point or two that actually has merit. We'll join in.

Oh, I'm not religious. I've studied almost all of them, read the holy texts. I also have a strong understanding and love of science and logic (formal and symbolic), and strongly suggest everyone to educate themselves the same way.

I know many Christians that have common sense. I forgive them for it and encourage them to learn better, as I do you.

Keep speaking up.

Oh, here's a few ideas about....

Common sense is the collection of prejudices acquired by age eighteen.

Albert Einstein (1879 - 1955), (attributed)

Everybody gets so much information all day long that they lose their common sense.

Gertrude Stein (1874 - 1946)

Nowadays most people die of a sort of creeping common sense, and discover when it is too late that the only things one never regrets are one's mistakes.

Oscar Wilde (1854 - 1900), The Picture of Dorian Gray, 1891

Common Sense is not all that common anymore to begin with.
As for Christians having common sense, some do, some don't just like with any people.

Some "Christians" do.

But Christianity itself is insane. The thing is, we've all been brainwashed from birth to accept it; so that otherwise sober and intelligent and even skeptical people automatically suspend disbelief when presented with the Jesus brand name.

It helps that most people are also ignorant of their own professed religion. What little they do know is wrong, coming as it does from within. Honest, legitimate, responsible historical research and scholarship has long since categorically demolished Christianity. The only reason Christians aren't aware of this is because they're insulated by the institution!

I think most Christians try not to mix faith with common sense because they come across many problems then. .

Problems like, how can Jesus be %100 human and %100 God?

If youre human you have human desires and consequently you cannot be God.

How can Jesus be the son of God, God isnt human and He therefore cannot have a literal son : /

Confusions confusions confusions...sigh

I may not agree with them with everything, but I respect them. Anyone who does their best to live a life dedicated to what they think is good has common sense.

Is it true that some people actually think atheists can see beyond their noses?

Every 'thumbs down' I get also applies to the idiotic question above.
