my husband and I just want to go to school, we have made some mistakes growing up (we went to home school and didn't take it seriously enough) but also we were both in families that we had to be independent at 18. We are married with one son and we both want to go back to school to make something of ourselves. It is so frustrating because we make too much for FAFSA but we would have to work less in order to go to school. I am scared to take out loans and nothing seems to account for the fact that you have to live (pay rent, groceries, bills etc.) while help with books is great we need to be able to live and can stay with mommy and daddy. The worst thing is that it seems like people who want to can live on welfare, we aren't looking for a hand out, just some help with moving forward with life. Any one have advice?

my husband and i are in our 20s and we live on our own we currently both work, and in order to work and go to school we would have to do all classes online, this isn't possible in our area. The real problem is that we cant find better jobs but there isn't any way for us to save money. We have tried to budget and figure out how to do it but it isn't possible to spend less money every month. we make just enough to eat and pay all neccasary bills. I just cant figure out what to do.

consider only one of u going at a time. The person with the most potientail to earn more right away. then you can make payment plans like 5 payments for the semester. Check out community colleges first since they are the cheapest.

Have u filled out the FAFSA form? if no do that....also i know when 2 family members are in school they may help out more.

good luck hope u will be able to go

Let me get this straight . You made mistakes as kids and now you want a free get out of jail card because you see the light?
Sorry there are none.
My advice is first one of you return to school while the other works full time and you continue to work part time. When your done he returns to school and finishes.
Your parents should not be your source of financial aid. Students take out loans all the time to finance their education. One reason is because the loans are not due until you graduate which gives you an extra incentive not to "make mistakes while growing up".
Welcome to the world of responible adulthood.
Good Luck!

this is tough. you would have to ask your parents if you could be emancipated, but if you are over 18 and out of school for now then i would consider getting a job. then when you have enough money move out of your parents house and into an apartment. then i would consider going to work more... then going to school.

Try to find a job that pays for college. Maybe one of you now can go to college, when that person is done. Then it is the other person's turn to go to college. Look into scholarships and finacial aid.
