I'm 15 years of age, live in Wisconsin, 5'10", and 185 ibs. I don't have much of a bank, but I do have a weight bench in my basement. In the next 3-4 months I'd like to lose between 10 to 20 pounds, get in a nice muscular or fit shape. I need to know of any ways to get to this goal. i.e. what i may need to eat, books, exercises, etc. If you need any more info I'll add it up, just leave a post and then edit it when I get back, or something similiar to that.

Your goal is weight loss only. For a good turn around you must do cardio exercise 5-6 times a week. Build up from 30 minutes if you are just starting, and try getting to about 1 and a half to 2 hours a day. Cut back all of your sugar intake, no sodas. Also try to lift weights, light weight, 3-4 times a week for 30 minutes to an hour. This will help oning muscle, but really loosing the weight should be your main goal. Good luck.

The Real Life Diet is a grea book, by Maryon Stewart. It talks about a holistic approach to weight loss so you are happy and healthy and the weight will come off and stay off. Healthy eating and regular exercise is the answer. Use weights for training (even cans of baked beans can be weights) if you want to build muscle.

Presumably you're still in high school. You ought to be consulting your coaches and P.E. teachers. They've studied all this stuff in college, and most of the one's I know would be more than happy to share knowledge with a kid who shows some interest.

At your age and size, I'd be surprised if the wrestling and football coaches didn't want a piece of you anyway. My son's coaches gave him an offseason workout plan, access to the school weight room, and showed him how to do all the lifts properly.

if you're deadline is 3-4 months...there's not much you can do in terms of putting on lean muscle and showing off the toned and ripped body that you desire.

185lbs at 15...i'm thinking that most of it is fat? If you want to look fit in that amount of time...I suggest dieting to burn fat, not to build muscle.

A high calorie diet is what's needed when putting on muscle...you wouldn't be able to lose much fat.

you must be a girl cause if your a guy your way too small lol but if u dont like your body then try a healthy diet and run with some small exercises like push ups sit ups and pull ups. celery is good for when your just bored hungry because it has negative calories and only eat when hungry..but for a girl who is 5'6" and 130... u sound perfect

eat frequent, 6 meals a day. these meals should be small, but substantial. get all of your nutrients in. also, weight train every other day. the off days should be for cardio training.
