Don't feel rejected, feel bloody angry. You've obviously shown how committed you are to your recovery (I hope I can say 15 years one day!) and you plucked up the courage to do something about it. Have you tried to talk to AA about it? Maybe try a different, doctor. Believe me I know only too well the attitude some people can have towards an alcoholic, but don't give up. Hey why am I giving you advice it should be the other way around! Very best of luck.

Congratulations for taking the first step! Do not let this doctor's response get in your way of getting well again. Surround yourself with people who will be able to support your through this time. As for where to look for places to go for help, I would be looking at welfare organisations, psychologists, social workers and drug and alcohol help groups. Where to find them, check your local phone directory, do a search on the internet, and/or go and see another doctor! I wish well on your journey!

Try going to a different doctor, or a chemical abuse specialist for a second opinion. Join a support group! You aren't alone. Talk to family and friends.

What you need to do is go to an AA meeting, they have them all over just look in the paper it shoudl have when and where they are. But if you can't find any just go to a clinic and they can help you with where yu can find help. Just ask about the meetings

Sorry about that...but the physician you went to probably wasn't in
chemical abuse rehab, was he? You need to consult a psychiatrist or clinic that deals specifically with that area....and good luck to you.

Your best bet would be to go to one of those drug and alcohol abuse clinics.
