Hi..my friend just recently bought a bichon frise. The puppy is very active (biting on everything) which of course is expected. But she just took her to to the vet and she already weights 6.2 lbs (at 3 months). She has a very petite frame but she is worried that she is going to be big. I know that a bichon's weight could be from 10-18lbs but I was just wondering if anyone who has a bichon can tell me how big your dog is? I know she was hoping the dog would be no more than 10-12lbs. What do you think?
Thanks a lot!

Check out this website for info on your Bichon frise.

A Bichon's frame/weight is all genetics. Even if one bichon weighs 9lbs, another can weigh 22lbs, depending on ancestors.

Most Bichons we see are overweight. If your friend's gets this way, she just has to keep in mind, it's not the dogs fault she is over weight, it's the owner that is feeding the dog.

7 to 12 lbs. according to what I've found. I know they're pretty small. I'm posting a link to the AKC standards, which gives height, not weight, and another link I found.
