It's typical for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka Mormons) to be treated with a certain sense of peculiarity. Like somone said before, people usually fear what they do not understand. No matter what good we may do, there will always be people that will put us down. Instead of letting the contention get you you (assuming you are LDS) let it cause you to strive to be an example of the beleivers. (See the mutual theme for this year.)

Jesus said you will be hated because of Him. Anyone, who is in love with God, who is dutifully fufilling their purpose, and doing the work we are sent here to do, recieves such hatred. It is not exclusive to mormons. There are probably alot of mormons who cant even relate to what you are saying. Same goes for every Jesus believing religion. It is the doctrines of mormonism that I disagree with, not the people. Jesus said that after His ascention, that the Holy SPirit would be sent to guide us, not other men, religious leaders- because they were going to be the ones who would bear false witness and decieve many. There was NO new revelation after Jesus. Anyone who teaches outside the Bible, is committing false prophesy. Im not saying mormons dont love God; quite on the contrary; but the same deception has entered as has entered every other religion. The simplicity of Christ Jesus has been compromised, by people leaning toward manmade doctrine. But it does say in the Bible, that whatever you believe, doesn't really weigh that much, as long as you believe in Jesus, and love Him; and loving Him is obeying God's word; part of which, is to have no other gods but Him. I think mormons do an excellent job, of preforming the works; they just need to becarefull never to forget their first love. Let God always guide you in what you do, not a man made doctrine.

I've never met a person who has hated mormons. BUT I have met people who don't agree with mormons and aren't afraid to say it. Some of the practices of mormons are considered bizarre and untrue, and the religion overall is regarded with suspicion because it is occult to the rest of mainstream Christianity. But there was a time when Christianity was regarded with the same suspicion, so keep your head up and don't let it get to you.

Most people 'hate' what they don't 'understand' and many people find the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints very difficult to understand. Most people 'hate' the Mormons because they don't think they 'know any' ... but you are correct when you say that the Mormons do much 'good' in this country ... the Catholics do 'more' but the Mormons are 'second' of the 'non-governmental help' given out in this country. Welcome to the world, dear Mormon ...

I really do not know enough about LDS to say I hate the belief. I know that the religion has added books to the Holy Bible and that is wrong. islam has done the same thing and look what has become of them. The few Mormons I know are nice, but you are misled.

May God Bless you.

the problem with Mormonism is that it was definitely created by a man who had little formal education and yet claimed he found tablets in upstate New York and translated ancient script within six months and created the Book of Mormon. So my question is, why wasn't Judiaism or Christianity good enough for this guy? why create a new religion?

I don't know anyone who "hates" the Mormons. Yes, they do a lot of good, so does many other churches and organizations. You have to understand it's their doctrine people have a problem with.

I don't hate Mormons. The Mormon religion is false Christianity and many are decieved. Read and study the Bible. Pray to find the truth and God will definitely lead you away from the Mormon church.

All that stuff you do to help others is great, but that is not enough. You must preach truth.

Criticism of the LDS Chruch is not criticism of Mormons themselves, nor is it hate.

well i think its wrong that the mormons let the males have multiple wives but the women can't. That's pretty sexist and unfair to me. That's like saying men are superior therefore they get to have that choice. I mean come on, I know some women who wouldn't mind having a second hubby also
