Is there any way i can open .xls files i have received by email,i have not got microsoft excel?

Open office is compatible with all Microsoft Office Files
Install open office free at http://www.openoffice.org/

Try getting OpenOffice. I believe it opens Excel files. The only other way is to have the sender create the excel file as a web page and sent the whole package.

If you don't have Microsoft office or works you can download a excel viewer from Microsoft here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=c8378bf4-996c-4569-b547-75edbd03aaf0&displaylang=EN
It'll allow you to view and print excel work books but not modify them

You should be able to open it with Microsoft Works (Spreadsheet).
